If that's true, perhaps the leaked version really is an un-mastered or even an early demo from September/October 2004.
I read about that. I just find it weird that if it's a demo, why does it still have a fade into the next song? Just a mock up of how the album is supposed to flow together? Trent's fucking with us. Just a couple.. of months... left....
Trent fucking with us is a very good guess right now. I've heard rumblings of a possible demo CD of "With Teeth/Bleedthrough" that was possibly passed to Interscope, and a copy was stolen or something, and thus, this is how we get the demo. It's possible one of the demos was "Beside You In Time" too. I'm not going to look to much into it though. I hope the album doesn't leak, since it has a good chance of selling worse than "The Fragile" if it does indeed leak 2 or 3 months before the release date.
I just remembered this. http://www.nin.com/current/5-05.gif . You can tell the last blacked out title is "The Line Begins to Blur". Looks like TLBTB's structure was changed many times so who knows, this could be a scrapped version.
You're probably right about it being a leaked version of a previous incarnation of the song. I'm betting it was leaked by Trent now too. It just seems like something he'd do, now that I think about it. It's a demo most likely, so it won't be on the record, so he's free to do whatever with it. Also, alot of people saying Trent might have lost his touch, etc etc. What better way to prove the naysayers wrong then releasing a kick-ass demo. That's a swift kick to the nuts if I've ever seen one. I found a kick-ass instrumental that was labeled a secret track, and sounded like NIN, but there aren't any instrumentals on this album, so it's fake. Also found (suprisingly) a fake version of You Know What You Are?. EDIT: I don't know if it's a hoax or not, but in the new Rolling Stone, there's a blurb about "With Teeth", and it claims that the song Only has a beat like Billie Jean(?!) and is a spoken word piece. Take it with a grain of salt, considering who posted this at another message board I visit. The guy can't even spell right. EDIT #2: Oh, hey, look. It's true.
I added you to my MSN to ask you about that track a little while back. I got bored on Limewire and put in "With Teeth" to see if I could find any new artists like I did with LP. I got that "secret track The Last Inch. I like it and I wanted to find out who it was. I think someone said it was a secret track on one of Aparment 26's cds. It sounded very much like the stuff from Still. Billie Jean type beat? I can't imagine it but I think it'll be cool. Trent was scared people wouldn't like Closer and looked what happened with that.

Nothing too big. Just heard a better radio rip, though the front is cut off a little bit. A lot of production was missed in that crappy version. Mainly the beat. It thumps. Especially during the bridge. Casey, you were definitely right about the lyrics. I like the whole "What if those whole crusads, a charade?" part. Somebody at some radio station needs to get their CD stolen and leak that damn song in good quality. It's killing me.
Yeah, I think I heard the version you're speaking of. The quality is to...high for me, I guess. It's not CD quality, but it's not Radio Rip quality either. It just sounds weird. I'm going to stick with my Radio Rip until the CD quality comes out.
Sorry for the double post, but... Someone at Echoing The Sound found a With Teeth player, but apparently someone important saw that they had found it, and replaced it with The Downward Spiral Re-Release player. So, I expect a With Teeth player within the coming weeks.

Yeah, I saw it. It was basically an animated still from the teaser that looped. It didn't look finished at all. I downloaded The Fragile today. Wow. Just amazing.
The "Access" part of nin.com has been updated, and Trent appears to be very pissed about the leak(s). He even went as far as...spoiling the ending of Million Dollar Baby!!!! SHOCKHORROR.
