Yeah, the whole "You don't like it because you can't accept change" argument is dumb. This is hardly a major departure from their usual sound. I think as time passes by, 30STM fans will start to realize this band peaked after A Beautiful Lie. I'm a bit tired of Jared's oversinging and the crowd vocals. It's not a bad album but once again I feel they succumbed to the "trying too hard to be epic" bug. LLFD, much like TIW, seems very inconsistent quality-wise.
So let me get this straight. Someone accused a forum where the majority of people people like the way Linkin Park's carrer has evolved over the years as hating the album because they don't like change.
Nothing more to say about the "change" argument. I don't feel like This Is War "fell off at the end." Trying hard to be epic? Maybe, but at least they succeeded in it unlike failing to in LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS.
Exactly. From what little I've heard, the new music is hardly any different from what was on "This Is War" at all.
Vocally, it is. All we need is faith. Faith is all we need. All we need is faith. Faith is all we need. All we need is faith. Faith is all we need. All we need is faith. Faith is all we need. All we need is faith. Faith is all we need. All we need is faith. Faith is all we need. All we need is faith. Faith is all we need. All we need is faith. Faith is all we need. ... I think this song is about faith. Edit - noticed you're discussing their sound, just thought I'd knowledge that.
Seriously? If you're trying to call End of All Days a repetitive song, just say that. But it's not like the entire song is like that. It's just the chorus which plays 2 or 3 times. I think you're also forgetting that repetition is a style of music. And I think Depuis Le Debut title meaning is the change of humanity since they first were on Earth. Since the debut, or since the first appearance. Yeah so I'm going to go with: Change of humanity since they first were on Earth.
I wasn't specifically calling out End Of All Days, more so the album as a whole. That was just my example. The thing is, Thirty Seconds to Mars haven't really been the band for repetition, hell, I'd call it more lazy writing than anything else. What the fuck kind of chorus is,
Victimized, victimized, never again, victimized or On a Valentine's Day or Ah... Try to catch up motherfucker. Look at that, it's our favorite band and they use repetition too.
THE. WHOLE. ALBUM. + I expect more from Thirty Seconds To Mars (not that I except less of Linkin Park). Nor have I claimed glory to any of those songs you mentioned.
LOVE LOVE FAITH LUST LOVE LOVE LOVE FAITH LOVE LUST FAITH LOVE LOVE DREAMS LOVE FAITH DREAMS Now ... I wonder what they called this album, 'cause I totally forgot.
