As long as the electronics are not too strong, I'll be happy. BID felt way too electronic heavy for me.

Out of context, the line given to us from Complex is awkward as all fuck.

Agreed, I'm really curious to see how that "Banksy" line will work out in the song.

I can picture it, like the opening line of the second verse. It does sound weird, but do you remember that ATS pre-listening? We read those lines "I'm not a robot, I'm not a monkey" that sounded really weird, but now we're used to them.

That's not the point. The point is Complex gave an incomplete line. It would be like, if all memory of past LP songs were erased, some guy was like, "Hey, this new song is badass. I really like the line, 'I'm not a robot, I'm not a monkey, I will not dance.' It's so cool!"

I think Bansky does some pretty awesome work and to see Mike pay homage to him is actually really cool.

That's your point. Just because you have your own opinion over that doesn't mean my point isn't correct.

I wasn't saying your point isn't valid. I was clarifying the reasoning for why we're saying the line given by Complex is awkward.

All the interviews these guys are doing suggest that this album is going to be more "fan-friendly". So, I guess it will have normal song structures, the return of more back-and-forth vocals between Chester and Mike, and a more prominent role of guitars (just like the first 3 albums). BUT, at the same time, they will not let go of the experimentation they did in ATS - the synth solos, use of unconventional instruments/sounds, etc. Similar to how Radiohead combined the revolutionary sounds of "OK Computer" and "Kid A" to make "Hail To The Thief" and "In Rainbows".

On paper, this sounds like the dream album we always wanted LP to make. :awesome: Let's hope the execution doesn't disappoint.

I still don't know what to expect from this new album, but I get the feeling that it'll be their most...I'm not sure what word to use..."hip" album? Like the most modern sounding.

HT and Meteora were nu-metal wayyy after nu-metal had been around. MTM was basic alt. rock/pop, and ATS was piano/electronic at a time where electronic music was exploding in the mainstream.

I think this new one will be the most up-to-date with the underground/not-yet-mainstream trends. Mike seems to be really into that stuff at the moment. But I could be totally wrong.

I hope Living Things sounds like Robot Boy.
I'd cheer and fling about bounds of joy.

I was looking through Mike's "favorites of 2011" playlist on Spotify awhile back, and when I saw that Lights was on his playlist... I can't help but feel some of that electronic influence on 'Burn It Down'

I'm hoping for some songs like Faint, that make you want to turn the volume up in the Car 100% then sing your heart out till your voice doesn't work anymore! Then I'd like some songs like Iridescent. :)

Many would come for you with Pitch-Forks if that were to happen.

    Not I, but many others.

I want it to be No Roads Left mixed with Blackout mixed with The Catalyst mixed with When They Come For Me and some Wretches & Kings thrown in there.

I hope the new album is like all of LP's epic-ness in one. Wish it would become a landmark, but probably not, but I could wish
