Well, the CD is out in stores tomorrow and I have been listening to this CD for weeks now, since it leaked onto the net. The more I listen to this CD the more amazing it sounds. I recommend this CD to everyone. It is deffinantly alot different than their "the artist in the ambulance" CD. Its alot more experimental and softer but still is Thrice. I like ever single song but the ones that stand out are "music box" "of dust and nations" "stand and feel your worth".........go buy it tomorrow
I've been waiting for months for this CD and haven't downlaoded or listen to the album except "Image of the Invisible", "The Earth Will Shake" and "Lullaby". It' shaping up to be fucking amazing from what I've heard this far. Me and my friend aare going down to a local music store tomorrow at lunch and buying it. Gotta bring my CD player to school tomorrow. And from what I've heard, this album isn't supposed to be that soft, heavier actually.
Don't count on it.
I'm not counting on it. I honestly don't think they can get any softer then aqoustic versions of all their songs.

I downloaded the album a few days ago and it is rather soft. I don't really mind it though. The lyrics are still amazing and flawless.
This album is without a doubt softer, but just as awesome as 'Artist in the Ambulance'. I say a few more listens and I'll be deathly hooked on this album.
You've heard wrong. Most of the songs are soft and dreamlike. If this is harder than Artist than I shall eat my hat. And well..it's not.
Which amazes me because "The Earth Will Shake" is probably one of the heaviest songs I've heard from them. And I think I read on AbsolutePunk.com it's a heavier album. And if you haven't heard "Lullaby", it sounds like a track that should have come off of Artist, it isn't that soft.
What is this "Lullaby" song everyone keeps talking about? Is that "Music Box"? I'll be picking this up tomorrow. Great album.
No, it is a song that wasn't put on the album. That said, they decided to put it in the game Burnout Revenge. There's also another song that willb e out tomorrow called "The Flags of Dawn" which is only available to those who preordered the CD through Best Buy, they as well get the 5th and final podcast on the new album. You could preorder a special edition version of Vheissu which came with a 7-inch white vinyl. Music Box has parts of the music from the music box that Teppie bought in Japan. Lullaby has none of that. Not to mention the lyrics are different. I swear I have a life.
well, tomorrow i plan to buy the album, but havnt pre ordered it, so what does this mean, will i get any bonus stuff?
Depends. From what i've been hearing is that major retail stores such as HMV and places like that don't have the deluxe edition. Local stores may have it though.
I will say that the other Thrice albums are probably better than this one. But with that said this is still better than most punk shit that is coming out today and is a solid album.

There's no difference, besides the packaging, between the paper and jewel case versions of 'Vheissu', right? I took the jewel case because Iit looks better in my cd rack.
The paper digipak is limited edition, has a 30 page booklet (although idk whats in the regular album) explaining the writing process of each song and the making of the album and such. I found it interesting... but I was hoping the special edition would have another song or something.
Okay, lets get some clarification on the G.O.: There are two copies of the CD, the jewel case and the paper case. The paper case has a 32 page booklet (I'm pretty sure of this), while the jewel case doesn't. Neither of these copies come with extra bonus songs. Bonus songs however were included if you either: preordered the album from Thrice's label (You recieved a 7" White Vinyl with "Image of the Invisible" and "The Weight of Glory"), if you preordered from Best Buy you recieved a code to downlaod the fifth and final Podcast and "The Flags of Dawn". Also, if you buy the album off iTunes, you get a bonus track which is "Atlanitc live at the Apple Store" (I wouldn't worry about this as Apple will probably release the whole performance anyways). And the last bonus song was Lullaby which was featured in Burnout Revenge. Also, the iTunes version of the album does not have the 32 page booklet as a digi-booklet. -- If I screwed anything up or mixed it up, be free to correct me. Also, if you are looking for "The Flags of Dawn", "The Weight of Glory", "Lullaby", or the Fifth Podcast i have them all. Or you can just search your MP3 downloader or the official Thrice boards for the songs.

I just started getting into Thrice's music and I said I'd buy the new album only if it had more songs like "Paper Tigers". I guess it doesn't. I'll still check out some songs from the new album and maybe I'll be into it, but I'm mostly into hard rock and shit like that.

It's true that it isn't as heavy as previous material (although "Hold Fast Hope" is heavy as hell), but it's a great album. It's more melodic, yet it still has that trademark Thrice feel. It's more of a hard-rock album than anything. Mix in a spacey atmosphere on some of the songs, and you've got a unique album.
