I think we can expect a pretty good deviation from LT but I can't say it'll be more organic. But who knows.

Mike's laptop and hundreds of programs have proved to have more musical talent than most of the artists today.

That's a ridiculous degree of dong-riding, joke or not.

But what if they don't care if a bunch of random people see them as a rock band or not? After all, till this day, they're still referred to as that Nu-Metal band.

Plus, what's with the condescending attitude of some people in regards to electronic music? Since when did the guitar become the ultimate tool of music?

The reason that LP is STILL categorized as that 'nu-metal band' is because when they heavily impacted the music scene with Hybrid Theory in 2000, everyone got that image imprinted in their head. For example, if Eminem suddenly started to sing country music, and made like 3 country albums, people will still think of 'rapper' when they thought of Eminem. I HATE nu-metal with a passion, but a lot of ignorant people like that will still call LP that.

I get your point, but I think Kid Rock proves your Eminem theory wrong.

I'm glad there are so many different opinions on this. Allow me to clarify some things from the original post: MTM was organic. It was album created in a different setting (as someone else has mentioned in the comments) and altered from LP's usual way of doing things by jamming to figure out how the songs would progress in the writing process.

In my opinion, another album in which they wrote like that would be great step for the band. Some would call it a step backwards (enough with the "back to der rootz" jokes), I would call it a natural progression. Build it up, to break it back down (hehe). They've built the electronic sound with big beats. Break it back down again. Write some songs in a different way, and build the other styles of music on top, just like the band was meant to do in the first place.

As far as instrumentation and an organic feel goes, M2M was by far the best album.
