IMO, some of you guys are stretching it with the "unknown" part (The Exies?)... anyways, here are mine (and I may be stretching it with a few, too ): VoKEE Faktion Supercell Revolve Crypt Orchid eENIK The Adored Revelation Theory Sugarbomb
Dunno how big The Exies are in certain places but I swear I'm the only person at my school that's heard of them, so I threw them in there.
One song that I really like from this band has a title that I don't want to type since it is homophobic language. But it's still a fun song, nevertheless.
If you don't know who Joy Division is you probably shouldn't be listening to any emo or punk band out there. Seriously.
Aberrance is a local minneapolis band, very awesome unique rock sound. I suggest checking out Karma Kills on their myspace site. It's one of my favorite songs http://www.myspace.com/aberrance
The 69 Eyes. They're probably well known in Europe, but here in America, no one hardly knows who they are.
whoa, excuse me while I download their shit.
You can download 'Glory be thy name' here. offically, but you'll need limewire ect.... for their other material. My favourite song by them is probably 'Beneath a burning sky'
A shameless plug for local talent, but here ya go... Drivenation - these guys are amazing Projektor I Witness - my best friend's favorite band...she got me into 'em B) Vanderveen - amazing live
Thanks Casey, and I think I must share with you some of my favourite bands in whatever genre that you probably don't know...but you should! Here you go: Dredg - Mix alternative bands with the mellower edge of Coldplay and a hint of jazz and emo and you have this amazing band! Levon Ichkhanian - One of the most amazing but unknown jazz guitarists in the business, he mixes contemporary styles with World music like Middle Eastern, European, and Brazilian styles. Dream Theater - Although not totally unknown, this is my personal favourite band that comes up with some of the best music today. They mix 70s progressive music such as Rush, Yes, and Pink Floyd with metal such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Black Sabbath. Their new album "Octavarium" hits stores June 7th. PM me for 30 second samples of the tracks B) Symphony X - Similar in many respects to Dream Theater, they use the same virtuostic approach but are overall heavier, with Michael Romeo's driving riffs and shred solos! They are on the Gigantour Festival with Megadeth and Dream Theater this summer, and are one of the most underrated bands around. Check out the soundclips on their website. Porcupine Tree - Mixing alternative rock styles with progressive rock and atmospheric rock, this band has the catchy hooks with amazing music substance and depth for anyone to enjoy it. Their new album "Deadwing" is probably the best album of the year so far, with The Mars Volta's "Frances the Mute". Their US single "Shallow" has been on radiowaves this spring to some success and their UK single "Lazarus" has been a Top 40 single in Europe. The Flower Kings - An oldschool prog band led by guitarist/songwriter Roine Stolt, this Swedish band has revived the 70s prog of Yes, Genesis, and Pink Floyd and have given it a modern twist with tastes of hard rock and jazz fusion. Sporting some of the best musicians around in Stolt, keyboardist Tomas Bodin, and bass virtuoso Jonas Reingold, they are pushing the boundaries of modern music with their unique sound. Try those
woah, i typed in myspace.com/refused and the page was for the (international) noise conspiracy. i must thank you for your indirect help because i tried to see if they were on myspace, and i didnt think they were (since theyre not on their own URL, probably because the name is so long). i was going to post some bands, but i really dont like when people start listening to them saying how theyre all great and shit. i guess im kinda scared theyre going to turn into the whole donnie darko craze and shit.
I saw mendeed with cof a few weeks ago. Their guitarist is amazing.
Yeah, that's where I first saw them.
Hmm where to begin really....I know quite a few.. Hollywood Ending DARTS! Panic Cell The Bravery D-Rail penknifelovelife Biffy Clyro DiVide Dead In The Water SparkLights & Flames Bloc Party (most of these can be found on myspace)
people have made myspaces for other bands, like fans and shit. theyve done it with the blood brothers, which was really stupid because now they cant make one since their name is taken by someone else.
I Hate Kate- "I'm In Love With a Sociopath" Pressure 4-5- "Beat The World" Damien Rice- "Volcano" Future Leaders of the World- "Let Me Out" im not sure how "unknown" those bands are, but they are deff. worth checking out.
