I hope you are joking.
You guys forgot to turn your sarcasm detectors on I guess. TOUGH CROWD.
I don't think it was underwhelming at all. In fact I have listened to it more than GATS.
Does anyone else think my theory about UIG may be correct? Refer to my post on Page 6 if you haven't seen it. I just don't think it's a coincidence that LP released this song with it being more repetitive in nature compared to their other songs.
Could be. i mean, also people from not english-speaking countries will understand the "message" behind the song. So it could be.
I like the song in general, but I agree with that. I was like: "So NOW you're gonna switch up the lyrics!?"
Another thing, anybody think this sounds like 2007 LP trying to sound like 2002 LP while using recording/production equipment from 1987?
People saying others should be ashamed for liking or disliking a song/album need to grow up (unless you're being sarcastic of course).
Anyway, for me, UIG is kind of in the same category as songs like IBG, IMR, Powerless etc. It's a good song, but not really anything special. But I do really love Chester's vocals in this, plus I think the first chorus sounds beautiful.
I have listened to it only twice. One in the radio and then once on Youtube. This is definitely a song I'll skip while listening to the album.
But I am not really surprised I didn't like it, since it was the only song I wasn't very excited to listen to - based on the reviews.
I still think it's clichéd, formulaic, boring, and utterly uninspired.
While the song may use a cliche/universal saying, it's atmosphere and layering certainly helps pull me in and really enjoy it. It really is a much darker take on this theme and that's what makes me think the song composition itself is somewhat original.
I just noticed that Where'd you go contains nearly the same line as Until It's Gone.
Nothing really groundbreaking but I was just surprised as I just listened to WYG and didn't really noticed that until now. :O
"It seems one thing has been true all along / You don't really know what you've got, 'til it's gone"
I'm bored of it now 7/10
so far i'm disappointed with what we got from hunting party. but my expectations still high for the album
Why don't you like GATS?
dont know, i just dont like it. one thing that came to my mind is that its just a 3 minutes song with long intro and outro that dont really add anything to it, and instrumentally its a bit generic, my impression is that they made the song long and diferent from what i think most of us would expect, just to show that they can do it. the same way they made until its gone "clichéd, formulaic, boring, and utterly uninspired" to get radio friendly and catchy... GATS feel a bit fake to me. and rakim just emphasizes how bad and bland the lyrics are and chester vocals are quite bad too IMO
No more sorrow still is my favorite heavy song by LP
but i dont think all i said would matter much if i liked the song (NMS lyrics arent great either), they are just reasons for me to dislike it even more. but i dont hate GATS or anything, i just couldnt get into it...
Well, almost every song off of the new Black Keys album is better so I'm not really getting the whole save rock music thing. To save rock all your songs need to be awesome, and Until It's Gone is not.
dat baby tho
I didn't like Guilty All the Same either.
I am really hoping that the rest of the album - or at least most of it - is better than both of these songs.
Otherwise, I will be disappointed.
But I still have high hopes for it too. Especially for the songs reviewed.
I think there's a great possibility that the other 4 songs reviewed are better than these two.
So THP wont be a good album?
(personal tastes, don't catch feels but: )
