Album releases May 12.
Well, I'm relieved to hear that the vocals are most likely the only thing used from the official version. This mash-up just sounds way too generic and typical, which ruins the great vocals. I wish I wouldn't have listened to this.
Waiting For The Official Version , this is , with exaption from the vocals, not that what i like (ok, i really dislike most of EDM music)
Mike's vocals: Awesome!
Chester's vocals: WTF?!
Honestly, Chester's voice is not appealing anymore, he sounded like an annoying on the track, yelling with Mike..
Yeah, to me, he sounds a bit like a constipated, pissed off duck.
Yeah, with or without filter on vocals, Chester's voice recently is definitely going downhill. Idk, but that is what I've noticed since The Hunting Party came out. He is pretty worn out on some THP tracks.
I actually like Chester's vocals. Looking forward to the full song.
Some pretty smart guys on YouTube noticed that the first drop is from the song Samurai by R3hab (go to 1:35) :
And that the second drop is from the song This is Dirty by DVBBS (go to 0:58) :
Thanks to these users, I think we can all say that this is probably not the real version of Horizons.
Really? The vocal performance on Horizons is probably one of the best Chester has done yet. His vocals are really what make the track for me. And you're giving Mike too much credit. Mike only sings the harmonies, while Chester sings all of the main parts.
Also, I'd really like to see Horizons get a music video of some sorts. And do you guys think Steve will release it as a single before the album release?
Rave music/EDM is complete and utter shit. That whole crowd is a bunch of irresponsible kids hopped up on ecstasy. I hate the fact that Linkin Park has associated with Steve Aoki.
Absolute truth. Steve Aoki is an idiot.
Yeah, thats not Visceral enough
Because he makes dance music and you don't like dance music? ...
I'm going to assume the studio version will be different. I definitely like the vocals!
The backing instrumental along with the vocals is part of the official track, but the drop after the vocals is from a different track.
The official version more than likely contains more vocals and definitely different instrumentation.
Steve Aoki is awful live, so it's no wonder these drops sound completely random. They don't fit with the vocals whatsoever.
I won't pass judgement until I hear the studio recording
I've lurked here since LPA started, finally made an account in 2006, and only log in on rare occasions to put in my two cents... I logged in just to tell you to pull the stick out and stop being such a bigot. Don't like the music, that's cool, but insulting everyone who does is just childish.
While I'm signed in, I'll say that this track sucked. As far as EDM goes, Aoki is middle of the road when at his best, but he's got loyal fans and that does account for something. I'm reserving judgement for the studio release, since I hated ALTNC when all I had was previews, but still crank up the volume when it comes up on shuffle.
i think people are afraid of asteve aoki giving linkin park a bad reputation that linkin park is slowly turning into a bigroom edm badn rather then a rock band
and honestly i dont want linkin park to collaborate with steve aoki more (because i dont like edm and wont go to their concert if they play it).
