It is indeed hard to get through the first book, when I started reading it back in September last year it was my second attempt.

Now I'm on The Return of the King.

Double post, but I want to bring this thread back.

Currently reading: Sarajevski atentat (Sarajevo assassination) by Slavko Mićanović.

And I still haven't finished The Return of the King. :timothy:

Currently reading Halo: New Blood. First lore book for Halo that I've started reading, and it's pretty damn good.

I'm finishing up Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for what seems like the hundredth time. I tend to reread the entire series four or five times a year, so I know I've read them all at least a few dozen times. I'll never get tired of them, although Harry's overly-angsty attitude in the last three books is really hard to deal with sometimes, and Hermione over the last three books is an extremely irritating character at times, too.

Well it wouldn't be if you're the kind of person who finishes a book in one go. That's how I read books and I think that's what outcast boy is implying?

In my experience, there are some books you've got to take a break from. In my case, I had to take a break halfway through each book of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and I've had to take multiple breaks when reading The Count of Monte Cristo, Iliad, and Odyssey. Then I'll read something else before going back to them.

Well, you guys, I'm hard-core, I read an ebook of Hobbit and LOTR(all 3) right after one another for a week, my eyes and my brain hurt after that but I am some kind of hungry devourer of books I suppose.

That's nuts. Then again I suppose some books are just harder to read for others. In my case it was because they were sooo long. The Count of Monte Cristo is almost 1200 pages unabridged; there's no way I can read it without taking at least a couple breaks.

I don't really have a way of reading or a plan. I just read when I can and want to read. Sometimes that means I'll take almost a year to finish a single book.

i never tried reading more than 1 book at a time, but i'll try it.

i think it might be a little distracting to me, i'm not good with names and characters, so i would be very confused. focussing on one book is probably the ideal for me.

i usually read small books in one night, but the ones with more than 350 pages i usually take a few brakes, mostly because some books are "heavy" to read and a break is good to think about whats going on in the book.

The longest it's ever taken me to read a book was when I was reading A Dance With Dragons, which took me almost five months... I don't even remember why.

This show is seriously picking up steam. I would put the last two or three episodes up there with the show's best.

I recently picked up Seconds by Bryan Lee O'Malley. Graphic novel by the guy that did Scott Pilgrim. Relatively short, only took me 3 hours or so to get through it, but I quite enjoyed it. Actually read like a graphic novel rather then a web comic.

I suppose I'm reading The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins now too.
