Papercut and APFMH at Rock am Ring 2004 on a side note.. want to know what song that I think should be alot better live and isnt FAINT. especially recently.
Mostly anything from Rock am Ring 2004...easily one of their best shows. Specifically Somewhere I Belong. Honestly I don't like most of the new songs live. Not sure why.
I agree with you two, ROCK AM RING 2004 was great. I don't think they'll ever be able to beat that honestly.
Is it because they are boring as shit? Other then like Given Up and No More Sorrow I wouldn't mind LP taking off the other MTM songs Fuck that they should take all of MTM off
One word, three letters: AGE. Chester as the main singer in particular is getting older and loosing that great voice he has when he was much younger, and because if that there isn't as much energy in the crowd. Thats why I think the older concerts (such as Rock AM Ring 2004) will always stay as the "better" concerts.
Chester,Brad and Phoenix don't show as much energy as they use to. Mike still moves but he is more tied down to the mic and guitar it doesn't allow much movement
and Rob can't move because he is playing the drums, oh and same with Joe.....*sigh*. BUT I DON'T CARE, AS SOON AS THEY COME TO ADELAIDE NEXT I AM FUCKING IN THAT SHIT!
I think you guys are mistaken, they just stopped putting the proverbial "make-up" on their live shows, it's not just the vocals that have changed in sound over time in their live performances, everything has been made more raw and less covered up I think, and I like that they have that much faith in their sound, they don't need to worry about it. ... and you've heard Chazzy Chaz perform Condemned live right?, yeeaaah.. I don't think he's gotten "rusty" quite yet, if anything the Chester's voice is like fine wine.
No it's more of that Brad had to change his rig to make room for the MTM effect. etc. The reall difference is how the guitar sounds. Chester's voice is a huge factor but so is Brad's new rig.
Just a few of my favourites: No More Sorrow (Toronto, 2007) Faint (RAR 2007 sounds cleanest, Auburn 2007 for the screamo, Holmdel 2007 seems to merge the two wonderfully) A Place for My Head (RAR 2004, bridge is just epic) My December (Where ever the "Songs of the Underground" performance took place) Given Up (Montreal 2008, the crowd, the full scream, everything... sadly I can't find a HG MP3 for it) From the Inside (Summer Sonic 2006) What I've Done (London 2008 or Road to Revolution) For everything else, there's either Mountain View 2004 or Rock am Ring 2004.
