I love the intro on this one. I could try out the record, but I fear this song will have no match all throughout it. Only the growled vocals could have been way better if they were more controlled. I can barely get a word from the lyrics.

 

New Order - “Elegia”

The track before this one on the record, Luna, is one of the best things they’ve done. Definitely worth your time.

 

Deafheaven - Luna
Definitely great instrumentation. The riffing is just insane, but again didn't get any of the lyrics. It's a shame that this kind of bands most of the times doesn't put clean vocals in their music. It's only the part of connecting to a lyrical content by just hearing it that misses. Other than that, the instrumentation has everything from explosive drumming and churning guitars to a slower and more melodic piece.

 

That whole album is fucking gold and it will be worth your 45 minutes. "Brought to the Water", "Luna" and "Gifts for the Earth" all rank above "Baby Blue" for me. Deafheaven lyrics are more for reading than for like... singing a lot or whatever. He's definitely saying some real stuff though. The overreaching theme in their previous album "Sunbather" is escaping poverty and turning to alcohol for coping, and a lot "New Bermuda" deals with the dissatisfaction with the seemingly perfect, rich life he has after the succces of "Sunbather", still having to turn to alcohol. The switch between the two worlds happens on "Brought to the Water" when he says "a multiverse of violet and fuchsia surrenders to blackness now". Then "Luna" closes with "sitting quietly in scorching reimagined suburbia". The album ends with him drowning himself to end the misery and becoming a his flesh becoming a gift for the Earth.

I know you didn't ask for a lyrical analysis but I'm just trying to convince you to check out such a brilliant band. Damn, I'm gonna go listen to some Deafheaven now.

Bring Me The Horizon - Can You Feel my Heart
Sempiternal has been growing a lot on me recently. It's been growing to a point of liking it better than TTS. It'll be hard to find a metalcore album like this one. I think it was the fact that Oli Sykes is a LP fan that brought me to BMTH. This album even has at least 3 references to LP (one is a clear reference and the other 2 are there if you make that interpretation).
