I've got a project for school and you must pick a band and a cd...The choise was already clear to me But i don't know the real meaning of Meteora Song's...i've red somethings but the internet is not really trust wordy but i trust you guys and their could be interesting opinions ...plzz respond thank You
I think the meaning of the tracks on Meteora, are to find youself, and cope with pain and such. Nearly every track is like that, and I'm pretty sure Linkin Park said that in the Making of Meteora. But I can be wrong, I don't want to piss off Minus Xero or anything..
Every post I make, Minus Xero either argues, or insults me, I don't know if me posting will offend him/her.
I think Meteora was a competition within the bandmates to see how many times the words pain and ignore could be used in an album.
Yeah, and if they ever rhyme the words "Feel", "Real" & "Heal" again, I swear I'm going to chew my own balls off.

I know what you mean, you would of thought that after the chorus for 'Somewhere I Belong' was written like 80 times they could have made it better However I wouldn't say Meteora was crap, I'd say it doesn't hold a candle to Hybrid Theory but it is good.
No one could ever know what songs mean, and it's not just from Linkin Park. My co-worker and I were talking about this last night. You can analyze lyrics until your face melts off but the only people who truly know what songs are about are the writers themselves. Take Breaking the Habit for example. Many people think it's about cutting, some about drug use, some about suicide, whatever. I think the only people who do know for sure are the band. That's all there is to it.

Well, I was bored so I watched it and Chester never said that it was about the song Somewhere I Belong. He just said that he had to rewrite it for 80 times.
I think that the lyrics mean something different to everyone. If you want to have an amazing essay then write about what the songs mean to you.
Well I heard on the grape vine that meteora was written about the guys being on drugs....kinda makes sense with BTH but dunno about the others :wth: Razan is completely right though....an essay is always better if it involves a part of yourself!
Yeah, and if they ever rhyme the words "Feel", "Real" & "Heal" again, I swear I'm going to chew my own balls off.
...is that even possible?
well, there are rumours (regarding what the songs were written about) that "BTH" was written about chester's former drug addiction, though discussion of its interpretation to the audience has become something of a controversial debate. as for the others, some of the general meanings are quite clear: "numb" is about how one can't cope under the pressure of having to be something they cannot be; "somewhere i belong" is about wanting to be somewhere where one feels special or wanted; "faint" is about (from the perspective of the protagnist) someone (other than the protagonist) in denial and being forced to face reality; "lying from you" is about subconsciously wanting to be away from someone and lying to make that person not want to be around you; "hit the floor" is about the type of person who steps on other people to "get to the top" when everyone knows they won't be there forever; "easier to run" tells of how it's simpler to run from problems than confront them .... and so on. as with "hybrid theory", the lyrics on the album remain open to interpretation so that you can put your own meanings to the songs; feelings stemming from past or current predicaments or something of that sort... hope i didn't confuse you.
Your so claimed 'rumours' are false. Mike wrote this song for a friend he has known quite a while. Look at the history of LP. Chester Bennington joined the band in 1999. Meteora was released in 2003. The Meteora booklet claims that this song was begging to be written for 5 years. 2003 - 5 = Not 1999 (1998) How could Mike write a song about Chester before he even met him?
You should have chosen American Idiot. So much easier to analyze and describe. It's a freaking story.
