well in my school almost all of the people wear the Livestrong wrist rubber bands,i know that it has a meaning.the best biker in the world died of cancer and decided to sell a yellow wristband for 1 dollar, all the money that adds up of that bands goes to the people that has cancer.but why yellow?http://www.nike.com/wearyellow/index_f.html i also had noticed that they've made some other bands that say "support our troops","srength",and lots of other stuff, are they donating the amount of money people give for the bands to the things that say in the wristband or is it just "piracy",i know that the livestrong band is really serious about this. (even famous people around the world have the livestrong band) what you think?
I've never actually seen anyone wear those braclets around in my area. But I have heard of it before.
TONS of people I know wear them. I even have one. I also have one for the Muscular Dystrophy Association because my cousin has MD. I have 6 bracelets altogether....but 4 of them are just random things, not meaningful. EDIT: Here they are. The 2 red ones say "Bite me" and "F***U" because theyre my 2 favorite things to say.
jesus christ nate i dont have one but everyone around here does. even my school sells ones that say shit like "GO GRIZZLIES". i did want to get this one though, even though i can never vote
There are alot of different ones. I have the livestrong one cus i know people who have died of cancer and i wear the blue ''beat bullying'' one cus i have been bullied in the past and i know how bad it is, now i am strong enough to make a stand i will. There are others around my school like black and white anti racism ones and pink breast cancer ones but i aint got them
well....like most people now it supports the cancer fund thing.....if you know who Steven Gerrard is u shud ask him he knows
About three quarters of the student population at my school wear those. I'm about 1 of 4 people in my class that doesn't want/wear one.
Everyone used to wear them here like a couple months ago. Now I don't really see people with them, besides me and 2 of my friends. I have a yellow one, and then a fake pink one cause someone I know had breast cancer.
Just yesterday I had to pick those bracelets up from another teacher to give to my teacher. They're cool. I think it's a neat thing...but I haven't seen a lot. I don't think it's that popular here.
I just got one that's green and it says "Harmony and Balance". Usually I wouldn't wear one of these things, but my friend gave it to me so yeah..
I'd love to have one of those. but yeah at my shcool, just about everyone has one of the "livestrong" bands. there are a few others like "unitl they all come home" which supports the troops in Iraq, but other than that we dont have many different types.
lol my friend beat up some kid for a 'beat bullying' wristband... methinks he might have missed the point of the bracelet.
It was Lance Armstrong who had cancer but he didn't die. [/b][/quote] Thank you! I was just about to start yelling. Yeah, a bunch of people in my school have them too.
I have a black Hot Topic one, a black Brockton Boxers one (my school), a Livestrong, I'm getting the Dimebag one, and the brockton ones in red and white oh and yeah, a pink one for breast cancer
I guess the idea of those yellow bracelets is to promote a long and healthy life, and usually implies that the person who wears it is involved with some sort of physical activity or sport.
