Using it on my laptop. Much better and much more stable than Vista. Barely any issues, sometimes an app will stop responding, but it's rare. If you're at all interested in it, I'd recommend giving it a try
You've got to be about the only one. My sister's got it on her computer and has nothing but problems with it.
Vista is so bad. Whether or not I try this hinges on if it's better than XP, as I'm still not at the point where I'm experimenting with Linux on my own computer haha.
It's not better than XP, but as far as the next generation of operating systems, its much better than vista. Linux I find is just a pain in the ass for a desktop operating system unless you're using something user friendly like Ubuntu which defeats the whole purpose of having Linux because you aren't using the power of the OS like it's intended... lol.
My dad is running it, and has no problems with it, generally. I've used his computer a few times [I'll install it on my laptop when it goes final, too much effort otherwise] and it's definitely an improvement from Vista, but I imagine it still needs work in some places.
I have NEVER had problems with it in the year or two I've been using it. The only thing is, sure it uses more resources and whatnot, but I think the problems a lot of people get are when they do too much shit, when the unnecessary Vista junk is left on. I had to turn off a but load of features that were really stupid, and the constant indexing of files so you can instant search it? that is like your PC is always scanning itself so it knows where things are, I know where my crap is haha. So I turned that off and the RAM usage went way down. Along with other features. (the transparent windows)
I'm glad my laptop has 4GB of RAM, otherwise Vista would be rather slow for me. I have an annoying problem when putting my laptop to sleep, also. It's almost like Russian Roulette, because usually it'll sleep fine, but there's the odd time it'll BSOD. Definitely not good for putting my laptop in my backpack.
Me, too. As a matter of fact, I had my sister shut off all the unnecessary stuff on her computer to see if it ran any better and it didn't. I'm convinced Vista is a joke.
Wow, guess I'm in the minority with Nick here. I've had Vista on my laptop for over a year, and on my desktop for around six months, and never had a problem with either.
It's not that it's impossible to not have problems with Vista, but it's a pretty large majority of users who do.
You have to love it, Just like when you tap the shit out of the A button until the Pokeball closes so you will catch it. And I'm only running 2 gigs of RAM with my Veeeeesta.
