The blank blackness encompassed the land.

Drops of water slowly seeped from the starry sky

Ominously, the pulse of the earth echoed quietly, heavily.

    And the Angel awoke.

The Angel leaned up against the broken ruins.

Bloodied wings, a darkness ran through the stained feathers.

Broken picture frames scattered about the grey debris

and the wasteland deserted of life.

The Angel got up, grabbed his belongings.

This wasn't a plea for restoration.

Not a request for a return.

This was journey to relive a new life.

    A broken altar laid destroyed.

Relics defiled, but a fountain found untouched.

In the star-lit night, it beamed its beautiful grace to the Angel.

With a cupped hand, a slow and refreshing drink of water.

    A cool, cleansing water.

The Angel set out for a journey.

Not even the wind knew which way to blow,

for these strange lands knew not of unearthly presence.

The trail was never paved, and the fields of green were endless.

The nights were cold, undeserving, and flooded the land in a soft blue moonlight.

Howls of wild animals were incessant,

and yet there was a beauty in their melodies.

The star-filled sky never ceased to sparkle in the right way.

The Angel's wings wouldn't spread in these days.

Weaken and sore, they hid like an injured beast.

But the Angel was determined to fly once more,

To feel the cool breeze whisk past him, and to soar with freedom.

To feel as if nothing could stop, and to have no chains.

Across the watered wastelands, frozen barrens, and the scorched valleys,

The Angel came upon a oasis.

With a cupped hand, the Angel drank its glistening waters.

Warm, and healing spirit of water.

Hopelessly lost, The Angel sat down and gave a sigh.

Why was it the sky at night feel so vast?

Might there be a kingdom among the clouds?

The Angel knew these nights were not fireflies and empty skies.

That there was truly something out there in the vastness.

Like a truth behind all things, like an unread message within ourselves.

Destiny, perhaps, wasn't anywhere on this world.

    Dawn came with her magnificence,

and the land flooded with her glorious yellow warmth and light.

The Angel felt revived, cured, alive.

    The Angel unbandaged its wings.

It spread, and stretched its wings out.

Feathered in a bright cloud white, out like a reborn phoenix emerging in the air.

Enamored, fulfilled in the spirit of life.

The Angel carried on its way to the jagged, rocky shorelines.

On top of a cliff, to watch the sunset.

The cold wind gusted past The Angel, in a encapsulated warmth against the breeze.

The clouds drew in as the sun was ready to rest.

Perhaps the time has come, at the world's end, to finish this journey, and find its destination.

The Angel rose, left what earthly possessions it had, and left all worries and fears behind.

The Angel spread it's vast, white wings out and sprinted to the cliff edge.

The air flew past The Angel, as it soared in the sky.

the green and brown that engraved forested lands,

and the deep blue stretched out to the horizon, with soft orange glimmers.

The clouds were soft, like a fluffy cotton ball.

Damp, silent, yet The Sun's embrace still wrapped it's heat in the sky.

And it was there, that a great brilliance came about to The Angel.

A solid cloud, golden steps, and a heavenly gate.

One step forward, and The Angel finished its journey.

It's a rare gem for me to be putting stuff up here. Let me know what you readers think.

    Thank you :)
