I don't see a lot of movies, but the ones I do see are really good most of the time. I regret ever seeing Tomb Raider, however. I hate the game series and I hated the movie even more. Worst movie I've ever seen.
Everyone hates Tomb Raider and you know why? Because you either: A. Haven't played the series or B. Don't like the games. I've had to explain to several people now who hated that movie that in order for you to truly appreciate the movie or like it for that matter, you have to be a fan of the game. Otherwise the movie's plot is going to make little or no sense to you at all. Trust me, there was a lot of confused people with the first movie, and upon asking them if they've ever played the game they said no. I loved the first movie and it was because I had been with Lara Croft since her first game in 1996. I've played all the games and "Gold" expansion packs and have loved them for what they are. I believe that for someone to even enjoy the game that they'd have to enjoy the first one. And since the graphics are so outdated(it being 1996) I doubt that people who put graphics before gameplay would love it much. Just you people wait. Crystal Dynamics, the company behind the Legacy of Kain series and Blood Omen 2 are now in charge of any future Lara Croft outings from this day forward. I guarantee that if they really think about what they have been given the rights too, they'll deliver a game that will be "Game Of The Year" worthy and will bring a bunch of new fans to the series. I'm very anxious to see what this new blood will bring to the series and I can't wait till the next E3. - Now back on topic. My nominee for worst movie ever was Momento. It had a brilliant idea but the way the idea was executed is horrible. The movie is at most times very confusing to the viewer and most of the time you cant tell whether he's in a flashback or the present. Terrible movie that should of had a lot more planning. I cannot see how critics praised it when the movie was so poorly done.
I actually like Memento, due to the creative film shooting they used. The movie had you keeping a close eye on what was occuring do the character.
All that ranting coming from someone who hates a truly original and good movie: Momento. Derek, you see, lots of people that I know hated the Matrix sequal and that's because I feel the sequals are more appealing to big fans of the whole Matrix idea - having owned or played the game and seen or own the Animatrix DVD. It's the same thing with Tomb Raider - if you play the game, you'll probably love it; but if you haven't played the game, you might not like the movie much. I never played Resident Evil and I liked the movie more than Tomb Raider. Am I making sense here?
Lol yes you are. And after I think about it, I don't HATE momento really, in fact the part where his girlfriend/friend was confusing him I thought that was funny. I cant really point out a movie I hated that much as I usually only rent the ones I think are good. But if we were doing best movie ever? I'd vote for Se7en. Brilliant movie.
Worst movie ever would have to be...hmm...let's think. I regret ever seeing Freddy Got Fingered. *gag* that was one of the most pointless unfunny movies ever. it was also a really SICK movie >.< *cringe*
