Tremonti - A Dying Machine (Metal/Rock) Tremonti stepped it up big times! This is brilliant. (even better than his solo stuff before) Truly showcases his insane skillset. Mark Tremonti is one of my favourite guitarists of all time. Alter Bridge, his solo stuff. He was in Creed as well, but I'm not much of a fan of them.
Amorphis - Queen Of Time (Melodic Death Metal) A new favourite band of mine! Tomi's growls and cleans are unparalleled. They're actually touring with Soilwork and Jinjer here in January 19, so I'm looking forward to that. Impending Doom - The Sin And Doom Vol. II (Deathcore) This is unrelentless and punishing. My favourite Deathcore band is back! As authentic and sincere as ever. Brook Reeves is such a brutal vocalist.
DragonForce - "Inhuman Rampage" Genre: Power Metal / Speed Metal Jimmy Eat World - "Bleed American" Genre: Alternative Rock / Power Pop
Christophe Beck - Ant-Man and the Wasp (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Ludwig Göransson - Black Panther (Original Score) John Williams - Superman: The Movie (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
Bury Tomorrow - Black Flame (Metalcore) This is surely gonna end up as one of the best Metalcore releases this year! The clean vocals are outstanding (which is often the weak link in Metalcore) A great addition to their already impressive discography. Nervosa - Downfall Of Mankind (Thrash Metal/Death Metal) An all female Thrash/Death band from Brazil. Nothing groundbreaking, but pretty fun to listen to. The vocalist is really good though. Gives a lot of guys a run for their money. So many great releases this year. I've yet to listen to the new Deafheaven (Ordinary Corrupt Human Love) and Between The Buried and Me (Automata II)
Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway - Dictator Genre: Alternative Rock / Alternative Metal It's really good!
Soilwork - The Living Infinite (Melodic Death Metal) Soilwork - The Ride Majestic (Melodic Death Metal) Can't wait for their new album! Hope it's at least as good as their last two. Those albums contained some of their best material to date.
Skyhill - Run With The Hunted (2007) Dan Avidan's (Danny Sexbang) band before Ninja Sex Party. This is their only album so far.
Suffocation - Effigy Of The Forgotten (Death Metal) Suffocation - Pierced From Within (Death Metal) Two of my favourite Death Metal records of all time! Classics
Ihsahn - Arktis (Progressive Metal) Ihsahn - Àmr (Progressive Metal) Ihsahn (solo musician and frontman of Black Metal Band Emperor) is one of Metal's true geniuses! His solo stuff is really experimental and challenging (just don't expect classic Emperor Black Metal)
Alien Weaponry - Tū (Thrash Metal/Tribal Metal/Maori Metal) This is a brilliant debut album! This New Zealand band blends Maori culture with Metal. The type of Thrash Metal/Tribal Metal they play reminds me a bit of Sepultura and Soul Fly. Talented teenagers! (oldest is only 17) Let's see how they progress and evolve in the future. Wiegedood - De Doden Hebben Het Goed I - III [(Melodic-) Black Metal] I II III This is modern Black Metal perfection from Belgium (minus the silly overdone satanic image) Lots of True Norwegian 2nd wave Black Metal influences. (Gorgoroth, Darkthrone etc. ...) Cool to see that good (Melodic-) Black Metal is not dead. The scene is alive and well (not just in Norway, but everywhere on the globe: Germany, Poland, Belgium, USA etc. ...) Though maybe not as booming as in the mid 90's, the heydays of the genre.
Deaf Havana - Rituals Genre: Pop rock / Alternative rock Highly Suspect - Highly Suspect (Compilation album) Genre: Alternative rock
Cecil Otter - Dear Echo EP Can't believe it's already been out for two years and still no new full length album out. But these tracks definitely hold up to what's being released lately.
Hands Like Houses - Ground Dweller Genre: Post-Hardcore Hands Like Houses - Unimagine Genre: Post-Hardcore Hands Like Houses - Dissonants Genre: Post-Hardcore Woah this band is amazing! I wasn't feeling their first album but the other two are filled with bangers. also the singer's voice is perfect for this kind of music. Can't wait for their new album.
