I'm not sure of the names of the battles, other than the "Battle of Helm's Deep" in 'The Two Towers', but wasn't the "Siege of Gondor" the fight scene with all the green goblin ghost things (excuse the spider-man liason)? I think that part was, although well done, too easy of a win for the good side. A swarm of green ghosts over a large group of Orcs (?) made it pretty anticlimatic. Even though RotK was pretty good. The "Battle of Helm's Deep" was awesome because it was just people killing other people with swords and arrows. No ghosts.

'The Two Towers' is my fave, followed by 'Return of the King', then followed by the first LotR movie. [/b][/quote]
Well in the book the Seige of Gondor, also known as the Battle of the Pellennor Fields, the ghosts did appear, but the battle was longer than that. The theatrical version of RotK majorly cut down on battle scenes, the Extended Edition has much more.

I will admit that The Return Of The King, while exceedingly cool, did make my cry a bit at the end, when Frodo leaves for good...it was because my best friend had left the day before, for good, and it sorta really hit home...outstanding movie though...loved every second of it (w00t)

I agree. When I saw that in theaters, my mouth was hanging slightly open through the entire battle scene. Made it a little easier to eat popcorn.

And Gimli just rocks my world. :chemist:

They were all filmed at the exact same time... the only thing your voicing you opinion on, is what third of the story was your personal favorite. i liked the siege alot, but nothing beats elves slaying uruk-hai in the middle of the night, in style, helms deep gets my vote for the battles. Movies though, you gotta love ROTK, everything gets resolved, the whole big tradegy comes to an end. (Know what stinks? Elves barely made an appearence in helms deep until the end of the battle, atleast in the book.)

Well yes we all knew they were filmed simultaniously, but what does that have to do with which movie we like better? Try to make sense when you speak.

I mean, he didn't have more money, or more time making one as opposed to another, and the only thing that your deciding on is... which third of the story contained most of the events you liked.
