would it be a good idea to get with teeth if you're yet to experiment with industrial metal. I feel if i went out and bought the downward spiral, the fragile or year zero I might think it's a bit strange/weird and not really like it because most of the music i listen to doesn't stray to far outside the box.
With Teeth may be a good introductory album for someone who's not used to industrial music (see: not metal in the slightest). But most will say it's the least inspired music in NIN's catalog. If you want to experience true NIN, you're best to check out The Downward Spiral, The Fragile, Still, Broken EP, or Year Zero. It sometimes takes a few listens for a new listener to get used to something different. I think you may be surprised (judging by your assumption of them being industrial metal) with most of NIN's music. The Fragile is a very beautiful album that is mostly comprised of moody and mellow songs. And then there's times when it turns around and becomes quite loud and heavy. It's one hell of an album; a complete encapsulation of the mixture of heavy and soft songs that make NIN's music great and unique.
I thought With Teeth was an amazing album...it seems most ppl hated it or liked Year Zero a lot better. As for older stuff I enjoyed The Fragile the most.
The Fragile all the way. (Close runner ups: TDS, Broken EP, Year Zero) I sorrta dislike the fact that some people here say with teeth sucks...I can see how it doesn't live up to what the other albums have become. But that doesn't mean it sucks...it's still an album I could listen to at any moment without getting tired of any of it's songs...Sure, just my point of view, but still. (Is it just me or does anybody else listen to Last off of the broken EP at least once a day?)
It's not a complete day unless I listen to "Burn", so I'm on the same boat as you with the song a day thing.
