Well, it would appear that Matt Bellamy and crew are back in the studio to rip out the seventh Muse album! According to Matt it's going to be "rock-heavy"... Anyways, what would you like to see emerge from the studio this time around? First video footage from the studio: http://instagram.com/p/tyhBeuHXfF/
I remember about a year ago, Bellamy said it would be "a return to roots." That makes me excited, but I hope they aren't doing it for the sake of doing it. It seems like every band now always does a "return to roots" record. Hopefully it's good. BTW, bass solo confirmed. HYPE. https://www.facebook.com/muse/photos/a.120134033724.102653.8762738724/10152538256868725/?type=1
FAP FAP I JUST CAM! I have actually been following the action on Facebook for a couple weeks now. Pretty hyped. Also, let's be honest here, has Muse ever really left their roots?
That's only one album though and only a few tracks. They made a disco song and a dubstep song. Otherwise the majority of their discography is like, Queen 2.0. Though I suppose the difference between Origin of Symmetry and 2nd Law is noticeable, it's always been a similar formula.
Only a guitar god like Matt Bellamy can record guitar track with the amp in the other room. LOL Seriously, though, how the hell does he play without hearing it?
A) You can still hear your guitar. Even if a room with drums. It's crazy quiet but the camera just isn't picking it up. B) After playing guitar for a while it just becomes muscle memory because C) If he's recording and it's not a solo, he's probably practiced that part a crap ton.
If this sounds like their earlier work, like stated, Im hyped for sure! I like their newer stuff too though, I just think an album like Absolution would be great!
Err...that's completely standard procedure for recording guitar tracks in a studio environment. Normally you'd be in the control room by the console with the guitar, and the amp would be out in the live room. You'd only be able to hear the guitar through the studio monitors. It sounds like this song was being tracked live with Matt and Dom playing together though, so he's out in the live room without any monitors (they'd bleed into the drum mics). The amp's probably mic'd up in an isolation box somewhere else.
Muse Seventh Album Anticipation Thread Hey LPAers, inspite of my relatively "fresh" account i've been lurking here for around 5 1/2 years and have discovered that quite a few fellows named Muse as one of their favorite bands. They're my favorite band by now, too. Given the fact i am also a lurker at the "Album Seven" thread over at the muse.mu forum, i found it quite interesting to discuss the same matter here at LPA. As some of you may have heard, the album is heading back to the old, stripped down instrumentation found on Origin of Symmetry , Showbiz , Absolution and for the most part on Black Holes and Revelations. Also, according to Matt Bellamy on the new record, he published in a tweet, that the album's themes will deal with "Deep Ecology", "the Empathy Gap" and "World War III". Many have liked the idea over at muse.mu but unfortunately Muse-Fans are facing the same news drought problems as we do. Some details were "leaked", many fans claim to have found evidence that the album will drop in May or June and this is supported by the fact that they are headlining many festivals (much of them in Europe, i lost the count about that however). So, who of you is anticipating the album as much as i do? I am in good spirits that the upcoming album will compensate for the last two "experimental" (though some songs are quite enjoyable) albums.
Maybe because it was too long no activity Threads disappear after some days , but you can search them on the bottom of "Other Music" Cool username btw
