I disagree with this. The lyrics of THP are the best part of the album. I hate THP but outside of Until It's Gone the lyrics aren't bad at all.

But I never said they are bad, just unispired. the new songs are all about their families & personal stuggels (I don't count GG ). THP lyrics are there just because the songs need to have them imo.

We always applaud them for beeing entertaining, down to earth and funny and a sarcastic comment makes people butthurt now? Wow, seriously they always have to listen to all the bullshit people give them and they are not allowed to do the same in a hyperbolic way? If you can't live with that that is your choice but getting personal...ridiculous.

Speaking of lyrics, I can't comprehend how they created the lyrics for ATS. It's just so much better than anything else the band has ever created, and one of the best albums lyrically (musically too of course) that I've ever heard.

How did they get from the poetry in e.g. Burning in the Skies to "'till it's goooooooooone (x1000)"?

And while One More Light is definitely an improvement (I like the lyrics of Battle Symphony, OML, and Talking to Myself), it doesn't really live up to the hype based on what I've heard so far. (I haven't listened to Invisible yet, I'm waiting for the album)

I apologise if this has been asked, but is there any sign of thar Cowbell sample from Mike's Snapchat on the album? It sounded pretty cool.

Am I the only one that is already tired of some of the new material?

I mean, the new songs are ok and I'm fine with the pop sound, but I am already tired of hearing "Good goodbyy-yy-yy" and "Battle symphonyy-yy-yy" for the hundreds of times and the album isn't even out yet. Maybe it's because of the boring song structures?

I was listening to ATS yesterday and I couldn't help comparing it to OML (what I've heard of it so far) and I just felt so underwhelmed by the new music. ATS is so, so much more interesting to me. It's a bit sad how rapidly my interest in LP is declining after listening to some of the new music. Can't even bring myself to listen to the studio version of Invisible.

Not trying to be a hater or anything, but LP is just a bit "blah" to me atm.

They've raised the bar for themselves with ATS, and now everything they release is going to be compared to that album...
I guess you could say that ATS... is a gift and a curse. :chester:

If you're going to quote Chester, please at least quote him correctly:

“If you’re saying we’re doing what we’re doing for a commercial or monetary reason, trying to make success out of some formula … then stab yourself in the face,” he continued with a laugh.

Yeah, if they're old-school fans who think the band has completely sold out and have zero respect for the band's work, you may as well push them away

Well, they've tried, like you, to do everything they wanted to.

If I move on from ATS, I might as well just move on from LP ;) The reason I still listen to LP is because I keep hoping they'll put out something of that quality again. After 6 years I'm kind of losing hope though... and that's why I'm beginning to lose interest in this band.

Ha! I was actually going to say "so does anyone want to buy my LP Amsterdam ticket :kappa:" :D
But no, I'm going with a friend and she's still excited to go, so I won't let her down.

    Also, hi Tony!

I mean, I have a pretty big heart :kappa:

Honestly tho, I'm actually not that excited for the show atm. But we'll see, on the day itself I will probably a bit more excited.

lol I understand. During the THP era I got so sick of the album (I like it, it just didn't have enough replay value for me) and the band that I fell off these forums and didn't even notice anything LP-related for two years. I stopped listening to them altogether. I only got back here when the hype for OML started.

Every artist has The Album and you can't expect everything after that to be as good as it. And why all these complainings about the lyrics when the band was never a reference when we're talking about lyrics? It isn't their strongest skill and will never be.
