So, since Atreyu were on Projekt Revolution, I decided to check them out. Didn't like them at all. They're more of the "screamo" kind. Not my kind. Think just one song was worth listening to...."Falling Down". That's a kinda cool song. But it's more of a "pop rock" song. Not sure if anyone of you like it. Any Atreyu fans here, now?
I like Atreyu. Falling down is a good song. If you like that one I would check out Doomsday maybe and Lead Sails Paper Anchor. Also "The Theft" from their last cd also might be to your liking. Those are some of their slower more melodic non-screamo songs.
I used to be a huge, huge fan of Atreyu, but I think all their work since The Curse has been utter garbage.
You, my dear, are my hero. Like, I can at least listen to the new stuff, as opposed to new A7X, but just...nothing beats The Curse Bleeding Mascara, that's where it's at =]
"Bleeding Mascara" and "Demonology and Heartache" have got to be two of my all-time favorite songs, if I'm being completely honest. The Curse is probably one of my all-time favorite albums, too. I can't find anything wrong with it at all. I had such high hopes for A Death Grip on Yesterday, but I was completely let down. I like that they started experimenting a little more — but why is it when metalcore bands experiment, they become complete and utter pussies? It's kind of lame. But yeah, they used to be one of my favorite bands. Now they're just... a band I listen to on occasion.
Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses is my favourite album by them but i still really like their newer stuff. Ex's and Oh's, Becoming The Bull and Can't Happen Here are all great songs even if the newer stuff isn't as great as the old stuff.
Becoming The Bull is awesome. Especially when they did the game where you had to figure out how the song went lol. When Two Are One is another awesome one, and it's actually Jay & I's song.
When Two Are One is the best song from Lead Sails Paper Anchor, followed by Doomsday, and Can't Happen Here. I like all kinds of rock/metal, so I like all of Atreyu's work, though I must say The Curse and A Death-Grip on Yesterday are their better albums, IMO. They also did an awesome job on covering Faith No More's Epic. I am obviously a fan of Atreyu.
I really liked them about four or five years ago when I was first getting into -core music but now I don't really care much for them. There are worse bands but there are better as well.
So I have my list here (songs I can try out): 1) Bleeding Mascara 2) Demonology and Heartache 3) When Two Are One 4) Doomsday Anymore?
Ex's and Oh's Our Sick Story [Thus Far] Lip Gloss and Black Can't Happen Here The Theft Lead Sails [and a Paper Anchor] Right Side of the Bed Deanne the Arsonist ...but, that's just me.
It's probably best to just try their best of, and probably the rest of Lead Sails as well being as that was released afterwards.
"The Crimson," "You Eclipsed by Me," "This Flesh a Tomb," "Nevada's Grace," "A Song for the Optimists" and "Deanne the Arsonist" are some more songs you should try out, though they're decidedly a lot more metalcore than most of the other songs that have been named off (being that most of the other songs are from their latest two albums).
I like Atreyu...one of my favorite bands..i like falling down but it isnt atreyu..most of LSPA isnt atreyu
