Never included this in my updates, but the official music video for "Follow You" came out. Also, This seems to be the setlist the band is running with for the current American Tour Happy Song Go To Hell For Heaven's Sake The House of Wolves True Friends Sleepwalking Shadow Moses Can You Feel My Heart Antivist Throne Drown No encore. Most important thing to note is that "Blessed With A Curse" and "Chelsea Smile" have been dropped.
The video is super shit, and their setlist is laughably short. But, they play "The House of Wolves" and "Shadow Moses", meaning, I'd go.
I imagine the majority of the 15 year old girls at their shows doesn't wanna lose their shit to "Anthem" or "Football Season is Over".
Not just that, Oli really is losing his voice big time. He practically spoke all the heavy tracks at their Royal Albert performance. Almost 100% certain that the Blu-ray/CD is gonna suck because of him. The mixing for Wembley was done nicely, but you can't honestly tell me he sounded amazing.
Not very BMTH related, but there's a band called "Bad Omens" who is releasing their new self titled album, due August 19th. The reason I bring this band up is because these guys sound very close to BMTH during their "There is a Hell" and "Sempiternal" eras. Even the vocalist sounds like Oliver Sykes. You can check out the previews from their new album below (first three songs have already been released) Jump to 5:28. That shit sounds exactly like Shadow Moses
Been a while since I've touched on this, but UPDATE time. - BMTH's Live at Royal Albert Hall live album/dvd has been delayed (as expected because of Wembley's results). Oli writes, "Good afternoon The Royal Albert Hall project ship date is going to have to be pushed back. This is not what anyone wanted and we are very sorry to have to do this, but it is unavoidable. The good news is we are nearly there and it is going to be something very special. More news very soon. – BMTH" - The band has released its first official remix for That's The Spirit, Avalanche (Big Dope P Remix). Other than the vocals, this isn't very special. - The band is going to be releasing a new single in efforts to continue support for That's the Spirit. Much speculation seems to be pointing towards their song, "Oh No". - Oli has released a small bit of an unreleased demo titled Plume, off of the That's The Spirit session, which does feature some vocals. - Similarly to how Oli put out an early version of Happy Song with his Drop Dead clothing videos, he's once again attached a new, unreleased track, titled Destiny by Aokigahara. The track may just feature Oli and Jordan as you can hear their vocals, but according to Jordan is not a new BMTH song. We'll just wait to see if a release pops up.
At this point it seems to me like Oliver is pretty much labeled "lead singer", but is rather acting as an MC and back vocalist at the live shows, with his main function being the face of the band and the person that attracts a new target audience. Not saying he doesn't put work into the band, but the vocals could easily be handled by the rest of the band and are probably heavily manipulated in studio. But what do I know? Just informed myself a little and I'm not really a fan either. Just a few thoughts.
Not exactly. He doesn't sing lead vocals for Avalanche (live), but that's it. You'll find him and Jordan jumping back and forth in the chorus for Follow You and Drown. Other than that, Oli is pretty much performing lead on every other song
