Say what you will about live performances, but Chester still kills it in the studio to bring us the best possible final product without the need of polishing in the studio. The making of videos are perfect proof of this.
But Matt also scream on a lot of songs (the first dos albums are metalcore, for exemple). So this, they are a difference of evolution on terms of quality.
Dunno , i just knew the selftitled album by AS , so i cant tell more about this. I doubt that Chester make something wrong. Je should definitely stop the screaming soon in my opinion.
Yeah, to my knowledge, Matt burst a blood vessel in his throat during a performance at Warped tour because of all his screaming. The only reason he is still able to sustain his vocals is because he actually went in for Surgery. Assuming he decided to take the road Chester did, Matt would probably be done as a vocal performer right now.
Well why wouldn't Chester do this? If I had his voice I would do everything in my power to retain it, save for holding back on stage. It's a damn shame he hasn't done all he could to preserve it.
Seriously? Not sure how you could be fine with Chester's voice now. Some tracks, I will admit, he nails nicely, but for overall performances, he hasn't been doing too great lately.
This just goes to show how nitpicky some of you guys are... Neither of those performances of New Divide were awful ---> I am not gonna deny that he sounded better in 2010 but let us look at the setlists: Dortmund 2010: 4. New Divide Ziggo Dome 2014: 24. New Divide Hm... Maybe JUST maybe the reason his voice sounds more worn out in that from performance 2014 is because it's one of the last tracks of the show. I mean there is fucking 20 tracks between them. Not saying he didn't sound better OVERALL(which is the only thing that matters) in 2010 but let's at least be fair when comparing. Before more people compare recent song performances with shows from 3-10 years ago(like I know, you are going to do), think to yourself - why? Is a great live show determined by how pitch correct the singer is sounding? In my opinion: Hell No. Nope. He is doing fine.
To me, the pitch is definitely not the issue. It's how well Chester can create dynamic and tonal contrast between contrasting sections of songs. Chester can hit the notes, he just sounds a bit worse hitting them now than he did many years ago on certain songs
