I like the song, I immediately googled Skylar Grey when I got the email from Holly Brook's mailing list thing. She seems to be doing good now, she was even a trending topic (worldwide) on Twitter a few hours ago, lol.
Song is simple as pie. Verses suck and the chorus is the only good part. So it's just like 95% of hip-hop songs in existence.
So I recently, like, YESTERDAY, found out Skylar Grey = Holly Brook >.< best revelation of 2011 thus far
Where the hell were you when we talked about this nonstop? . Anyone else notice that this song is the number one song on itunes? And I agree with Travz21. Right on the money. They should just rename the song "I love the way you give me a doctor" . But Skylar's part is awesome.
I'm pretty sure Em never uses a ghost writer, he has stacks of lyrics (literally watch his 60 minutes bit or whatever), and he completes the concept for the song. It's not uncommon for rappers to be underfeatured on their own song.
^ He was referring to Dr. Dre. He never writes his own lyrics... but instead buys verses from ghostwriters. Judging from the flow patterns and whatnot, I wouldn't surprised if Eminem himself wrote Dre's verse.
no longer rumor, it is indeed her, she's changed her stage name probably because she's under a new label now? not machine shop anymore..im not sure why exactly
No, she sings through out Coming Home with the other girls and she wrote it! She left MachineShop - wasn't dropped. . . but LP def. discovered her. Guess they didn't know what to do with her. She says in a recent interview.
Lolz you heard "Topless" (reference track) by Dre? One version features Em actually rapping 'as' Dre. The song bangs so hard though, it was just a reference track after all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUrHPcOE2U0
People seem to be thinking this because she sings the intro of Coming Home, but the REST of Dirty Money (Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper) sing the chorus and they're black. So when you watch the video which Skylar isn't in you just assume it's the same people singing the intro and the chorus and you go "Oh she's black." Technically Coming Home is Skylar, Diddy, Dawn and Kalenna.
