I can't be the only one that played the shit out of Duke Nukem 3D when I was younger, right? It was full of sex and violence and I loved every minute of it. This game was supposed to be released like, 10 years ago. 3D Realms shut down shop, but Gearbox (Borderlands) have taken control over the game and presented a fully functional demo at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle. And it sounds like a breath of fresh air for the first person shooter genre. These games are taken way too seriously nowadays, with little to no humor involved. That's about to change. 2011 can't come soon enough. Kotaku has gameplay footage, I'm too lazy to link right now.
The moment I heard Duke quote They Live, Duke Nukem 3D had my heart. Now that Gearbox is involved, I'm kind of excited about Forever. Like Casey said, first-person shooters take themselves way too seriously these days, so it's nice to see one that doesn't try to mimic Call of Duty.
Fuck. We had Starcraft 2 out just a couple months ago, and now Duke Nukem Forever. PC gaming is definitely back.
I get the obvious sarcasm, but I'm not sure from your post if you're aware Starcraft Ghost was shelved years ago (a nice way of saying they quit working on it because it wasn't turning out to be a good game).
Of all the shit things to waste time on. At least Valve delays Half Life 2 Episode 3 in favor of the masterpiece that is Portal. But with Blizzard it's been "Diablo? Starcraft? Nah, we're gonna be busy dicking with stuff for Super Repetitive $15 A Month Clicking Adventure"
