Not LP-related news.. but Steve Aoki will do the soundtrack for Transformers: Age of Extinction.. That means LP will be no longer part of the Transformers ....

 

That isn't really a confirmation that Steve Aoki will be doing anything, but to correct your speculations he could be scoring the movie, which a score and a soundtrack are two different things. Linkin Park could still appear on the soundtrack. Although as I said, nothing is confirmed by that Tweet.

 

And both Linkin Park and Steve Aoki could appear separate on the soundtrack.

 

Obviously there is more than one song on a soundtrack album. Btw Iridescent wasn't even the main single of Transformers 3 so there's no problem with both appearing on it. Actually it makes it even more likely that LP will be appearing as they might be the reason why Aoki got known with Michael Bay...

Edit: Ok, actually Iridescent was the first single but not the most successful.

Rob said the band is in the studio, drums are getting a bigger role, and that his favorite song to play is Somewhere I Belong, and that the band hopes to be on tour by the middle of next year (Europe in 2014 very likely (his words not mine)). That's pretty much it.

Not newsworthy, but didn't know where to drop it.
