Hahaha. Face'd. But a fair review. Not a bad record, I'm enjoying it, but it wasn't exactly a "necessary" one, either.
Listened to it and well, what's there to say? I'm not gonna call it a bad album because well, there's much much worse out there. However, I'm not gonna call it a good album either. To me, there's literally nothing special going on in this album. I didn't really enjoy listening to the album, instead, I was... very indifferent. So yeah, a mediocre album imo. American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown (and of course, their older material) were enjoyable to me, this.. not so much. Green Day needs to innovate in order to stay relevant. That is all.
I like the last track when there's about a minute left and Billy Joe runs into my room all pissed. "ONE MINUTE LEFT! ONE FUCKING MINUTE. OKAY NOW NOTHING.I'M NOT FUCKIN' JUSTIN BIEBER, YOU MOTHERFUCKERS!" he yells at me, as he takes my stereo and smashes it on the ground.
Odd how the only guys advertising how punk rock they were acted like the biggest divas. I mean, it was some bullshit, but Jesus...
I kinda like the rant. Would've looked better in 95' though. However, the going to rehab after an outburst is bullshit.
Fan opinion is that the label issued this and that there was nothing wrong with him at all, other than them seriously cutting their slot. I'd say that makes more sense, tbh. Green Day are up their with Linkin Park as far as WBs big money rock bands go, I can imagine they don't want one of their biggest acts out there acting like complete jackasses.
If Uno is suppose to be a return to roots thing then I'd say mindlessly ranting, smashing your guitar, and flipping the bird as you exit to being the closest thing to punk that cash cow can do. Read this post and listen to Walking Contradiction at the same time. It's like Dark Side of the Moon and The Wizard of Oz.

Dos is pretty much as middling as Uno, but it has enough decent songs that I'll probably still have an album's worth of good songs by the time Tre is released.
Nightlife is hilarious. But yeah. Stray Heart is the only song from Dos that I can see myself listening to for more once or twice.
