I pre-ordered. I wonder if I'll get it shipped before release, or if I'll have to wait a week until I get it.
I don't know man. I'm one of the rare ones that preferred Minutes... over Meteora by miles, but I still don't know about a 4 out of 5.
Everyone's got their own opinion though. Some might have given it 5, some might not have given it anything. There's no right or wrong view on it. It's positive news that they've given 21st Century Breakdown a good 4/5 because alot of the time when a band releases an album that goes on to be uber-successful, the album that follows is usually expected to get nowhere near as much success so it's a great vote of confidence to the album.
I have a similar view to you then, I was just saying though haha. From what I remember of it I agree with some of the things that were said within the actual text, but I'd probably have given it a slightly lower score. In sort-of related news, New Found Glory did a set of Green Day covers at Hoodwink. A couple of the videos have been posted here for anyone interested: http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=1033802

I do not understand why a city as big as Toronto doesn't get a show, the fanbase is massive here. The closest date is an hour away at Hamilton.
VH1 will be streaming the album from Friday. http://blog.vh1.com/2009-05-05/green-day-hear-the-entire-new-cd-this-friday-a-week-early/
Still not sold on this one. Also, in regards to the Minutes To Midnight review, no matter how much you agree with the rating, I remember the review being REALLY bad. I seem to remember them dedicating about half the review to praising the bands anti-bush stance.
http://www.rollingstone.com/artists.../14435695/review/14459315/minutes_to_midnight I think for the most part it's mentioned more within the context of how they changed on that album, to be fair. And yes I am aware of how Rolling Stone normally advocate more left-wing views for the vast part anyway.
http://www.greendayauthority.com/ you can listen to 6 new songs of the album there It's a radio rip. Fuck. East Jesus Nowhere. Is AWESOME. haha
