Well, to be honest, I didn't think his guitar parts were all that complicated. My friend John has only been playing guitar for about 2 years and can play all of Fallen with ease, and alot of their older stuff.
Well, yeah, it may not be complex but the riffs and everything from what I heard from fallen were still good. There's good guitarists whose style is to play fast and complex stuff (Petrucci) and there's others who play simpler stuff like Moody but at least I think he did a good job. Look at Billy Howerdel's performance on the new APC album, most of the stuff is very very straightforward but I still loved it!
what?! this is such a shock.. i really can't believe this. this is so out of the blue. what's with all these guitarists leaving?! i love evanescence.. evanescenec isnt evanescence without Ben.. or any other band member for that matter. he better have a good reason.. hmm.. this is so weird..
NO! I'm going to an Evanescence (+ Finger Eleven and Full Scale or something...) concert on January 10th! NOOO! It's not fair! oh well.
Everyone says such bands (nu metal, modern rock) are dead, and this stresses their main members. Linkin Park are still together just because they're so tight friends, not just musicians.
No he has written tons of other songs like on the EP's and their first LP 'Origin' and unreleased ones too! Lyrics I mean..Amy has written most cause I've seen he lyric journal.
That sucks. I hope Evanescence won't start going downhill after this. At least it still has Amy Lee's great vocals to keep it intact, but losing a founding member just like that is...shocking. I wouldn't even know if I didn't come here.
... :'( ... i love Evanescence!! I can't believe that Ben Moody left! Why did he leave?! Evanescence isn't going to be the same without him! I mean he was the co-founder of the band! I was talking to a friend about this and we think that he felt underappreciated since it was always seemed to be about Amy Lee.
It's a really nice band...too bad that just when they're exposed worldwide and starting to success, they experience the quitting of their guitarist...
Amy and Ben have been friends since they were 13 and 14, right?
That's the problem, these two were the band. They never got the other members into account, and now they see the respnsibility.
That's the problem, these two were the band. They never got the other members into account, and now they see the respnsibility.
That's actually false. While it's true that Amy and Ben were the "core" of Evanescence, they did credit the others. Amy and Ben wrote all of the music for Fallen, but they did have help. Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle) played drums on the album. Rocky Gray (their current drummer) played drums on a few songs as well, and now he's their permanent drummer. David Hodges (who was a former member of the band) does the piano and keyboards on the album. Bass was played by Francesco DiCosmo, but is now played by Will Boyd, and he's their permanent bassist. Ben played all the guitar on Fallen, but it's quite impossible for him to play two different guitar lines live, so they got another guitarist, John LeCompt, who was in the band Burnt Offerings, to play with them live, and he's now a permanent member of the band. Rocky, John, and Will (the people who complete their live lineup and now PERMANENT band lineup) are all thank and credited for their parts in the Fallen booklet.
