ok i love local music. i think if you dont support them now they will never get big. so i was curious how many of you guys were actually in bands, what kind of music you played (i.e. punck, hardcore, metal, emo, ect.), and how long you have been together. heheheh jsut curious who the next big thing is gonna be
I had a band... when i was 14, we were called "the firedrunks" because one day we were drunk and by a fire.. that's how we got the name. We lasted 1 practice then went our seperate ways.. WE SUCKED! it was fun though.
I'm a one man solo act. I'm like Gallagher, except, get this.. Instead of singing, or playing a guitar...I play the FLUTE. And my mustache isn't as scary. Actually, it's made of pure sex.
Yeah I have my own band. Its a rock/Hip-hop band. Some of my lyrics are in writers cove that we're working on.My band is called 'Manic Generation'
I'm in a band we're called 'Heart of darkness' but last week we were called 'Necrosuicide' (we're going through that undecided name change phase.) But I think we're gonna stick with the name 'Heart of darkness' I'm doing some vocals and guitar.
Im in a band called 12 Pointless days, We are a punk band who mostly do covers at the minute. Heres a biography one of our fans has done 12 Pointless Days' roots come from a small project called "Ignite", this contained current members Chris and Stuart as well as Gary Connell, a friend who lived nearby, my friend also. Their was no permanent instrumental positions. It was mainly three people sitting making guitar tunes and then backing it with a drum beat and then putting it on the 8-track. Most of the influences were bands such as Linkin Park, Metallica, Nirvava (I think!?), Lostprophets and some others I'd pressume. One time Chris asked me to sing for the band so that they'd could maybe start doing more serious stuff with proper instrument positions, I still don't know much the exact instrument positions were to be. But that question didn't matter much becasue Gary left the band. At first it was to be deicided that I'd do vocals, Stuart on guitar and Chris on Bass and then look for a drummer. Then when stuart came back from his holiday Chris got a bit better on the drums so we decided it wasn't a drummer we'd look for it'd be a bassist. Eventually we found a guy a year older than us who played Bass called Kenneth, he agreed to join. The four of us went to practice a couple of times but then Kenneth didn't really seem too interested and stuff so we decided to go for a different guy called Mark and he's the current bassist.....he also used to have a mullet which is very important to me. We've also had a friend by the name of Christorious Michaelanglo Phillipette Honkenstnerous Harverster....he's got a lot of nicknames....his real name is Chris Harvey by the way. anyways he was to do 2nd guitar but struggled too much, he stills hangs around. He's good at skateboarding and some stupid things also. So anyways I decided I'd give 2nd guitar a shot as long as it was strumming the bottom strings repeatedly (yeh...), ...Yes I'll quite happily take the option of copying Tim Armstrong. Anyways when I joined the band I wasn't up for grunge stuff or bands that relied on doing effects and stuff, I liked punk...wow I'm so hard ...raw punk dude!. I liked Green Day, Rancid, Operation Ivy, Pinhead Gunpowder, Bad Religion and the etc's. I was never into Linkin Park, Lostprophets, and all that...never hated it either. I somehow managed to brainwash Stuart into doing my sorts, wasn't as hard with Chris as he liked Green day already. Now we're a happy family, happy doing what we do...so I'm NOT a baddy. Anyways the first practice we did Rancid's Radio, and we done it succesfully... thats the forming of the band. The songs that we cover just now are -- Maxwell Murder (Rancid) Radio (Rancid) Spirit of '87 (Rancid) Nihilism (Rancid) Ruby Soho (Rancid) Blackhawk Down (Rancid) Going to Pasalacqua (Green Day) Time of Your Life (Green Day) American Idiot (Green Day) When I Come Around (Green Day) To Have and to Have Not (Lars Frederisken and the Bastards) Maggots (Lars Frederisken and the Bastards) Buffalo (Pinhead Gunpowder) New Blood (Pinhead Gunpowder) Hashpipe (Weezer) Armageddon (Alkaline Trio) Hoboken (Operation Ivy) Life During Wartime (Pinhead Gunpowder). And some more which i cant bebothered to type up Yeah, anyway, A few people on the LPA have heard of my band. And, If you want to hear any of the songs above just email me.
Yep, i'm in a band with my two best mates and our mate (note i sepereated them lol) I play bass and lead (depending on the song) and they want me to do vocals as well
I'm in a band called Jaded Expression, with some of my coolest mates, well one being my girlfriend, but whatever.. I'm the lead guitarist/main song writer. We play our own songs, and take influences from bands like..Finch, The Used, The Haunted, Killswitch Engage among many others. We've almost completed our first song, and will be writing a couple more, then I'll be recording/mixing them on my PC. www.jadedexpression.cjb.net www.myspace.com/jadedexpression Thanks

The band will continue as normal...we have an agreement, that whatever happens, it will not affect the band, or our friendship
I have a modern rock band called Invention of Its Time. We have influences such as Linkin Park, Lostprophets, Incubus, and Hoobastank. I'm the guitarist/songwriter of the band. We're currently recording our debut album and we're planning to organize a rock festival for bands around the Ohio area. I don't think the vocals match the music, but it's still very good. It's still good. The singer reminds me of Maynard from Tool actually. I don't know why. Think I could get a free CD?
