I edited the post to clarify (before you responded, of course); a blanket dismissal of concerns with the tone your post had seemed pretty demeaning. As a mod, I'd simply have expected you to calmly explain it to him and delete any further posts talking about the subject. I didn't really expect a response like that. ... Wow. Man, I dunno, I just don't like dudes who haven't been raped throwing around the term willy-nilly, emboldening a culture that already has problems with taking the issue seriously. "Rape" isn't some kind of joke. I get that Broman just slipped a bit, but this response to my concerns is just... Wow. People already take murder seriously. To pretend the issues are comparable is just a mind-blowing display of ignorance.
Alright, everyone chill out. Broman could have worded it better, however, there was also no obvious ill intent here. I understand that a subject such as rape is a touchy one, I get that, however, Broman did not break any rules and I, along with the rest of the team is not about to debate political correctness. Broman, just choose your words a little better. Sometimes something said in jest might be taken out of context and made into a big deal, even though it may or may not be.
Then, obviously, I was unclear, for which I apologise. I was going to PM him or you or both of you so it could be sorted out privately (as this isn't a rule-breaking matter), rather than creating a controversy sinkhole that everyone will want to jump into, thereby derailing the topic.
Everything that I would have said (and then some) has already been put down here, somehow or another.
To put it into more detailed context, I in fact was touched several times inappropriately because a bunch of assholes tried to scare me out of front row, they of course got kicked out by security, and tho I am sorry that you feel upset by my choice of words, I see no wrong doings with what I said, we all just take it as we see it.
It is indeed best that we chalk this up to the simple misunderstanding that it was, if it isn't too late ... EDIT: also, wow, that sucks. I've come close to being crushed in pits in the past but I haven't yet gotten to the point where I feel that being on the floor isn't worth it
's fine, man. You said that without any sort of context. And context is important here. When so many people throw around the term willy-nilly to describe things that aren't comparable, it's hard to distinguish it from people who actually mean it when they don't provide context.
Arguing isn't on my agenda, I'm all good here. Edit: switching back to the topic at hand, a great night for these guys. Managed to get a few good pics and vids. Someone should photoshop the shit outta that girl's hand in the picture and welcome it to oblivion
Linkin Park. Carnivores Tour. I also sustained a rotator cuff injury when Mike threw me his towel at the end and Ben grabbed it from three people over and nearly ripped my arm out of it's socket... so there's that too... fucking rough show...
I saw LP for the 8th time at Amnesia Rockfest in Quebec and I've gotta say their live show is just getting bland, boring and predictable. It's amazing how quickly that ATS mentality went out the window with them.
Agreed. It's funny, the last few albums LP have gone out to say they're trying to write more music that will make their concert experiences amazing, when in reality the best concert experience I've had with the band was during the ATS cycle.
