Howdy. As promised, here's my "Living Things" remix album. I called it "Killing Things", because I wanted to turn LT upside down and make something guitar-oriented and organic sounding. It didn't happen with all tracks, though, but I think I managed somehow to make a cohesive unit out of this. Musicwise it's a trip through different guitar styles. You have all sorts of metal and acoustic stuff. Here's the tracklist: 01.turmoil (intro) 02.lost in the echo (of the tempest remix by dreamulacrum) 03.roads untravelled (wanderlust remix by dreamulacrum) 04.castle of glass (shattered by dreamulacrum) 05.in my remains (unbreakable remix by dreamulacrum) 06.powerless (weakened by dreamulacrum) 07.i'll be gone (solitary remix by dreamulacrum) 08.skin to bone (ashes to the new flesh by switchface vs dreamulacrum) 09.burn it down (ignite the heavens remix by dreamulacrum) 10.victimized (terrorized by dreamulacrum) 11.lies greed misery (the unholy alliance remix by dreamulacrum vs switchface) 12.until it breaks (demolished by dreamulacrum) DOWNLOAD: SendSpace Uploaded.net DepositFiles As always, opinions and feedback are more than welcome.
I'm gonna be honest here. When i was downloading this, i was thinking, "Eh...", but when i listened to the tracks, i was blown away! These remixes are amazing! By the way, what software do you use?
Well, thank you! My DAW software is FL Studio 5 (yeah, I'm too lazy to switch to 9 or 10). The album was made 100% with vsts. The instruments/effects I used here: Drums: - EZdrummer + Metal Machine/Drumkit from Hell extensions Guitars: - Musiclab Real LPC (for solo parts) - Musiclab RealGuitar (for acoustic parts) - Kontakt 4 + Abstrakt Bass + Iron Guitars (bass and electric guitar respectively) - Guitar Rig 3 Plus a bunch of samples/synthetic sounds.
Hey, good work on this. I was also skeptical at first, but after listening to it, I kind of enjoy it. There are a few parts that sound off to me (can't think of any off the top of my head), but overall, its an enjoyable spin on LP. If you have time, I'd like to learn how you did some of this. I've messed around in FL Studio many times, but nothing too crazy, and I would love to learn how to create something that sounds professional. Props again, Aeon
Some of the vocals are noticeably off tempo. The ideas here are pretty freaking great though man. It'd be fun to hear these remixes with the vocals on beat and with real guitars.
