Sorry the words dumbfounded and incredulous come to mind. Don't mind me I thought the band had some sense of integrity.
True that, I do ofcourse still have hope for the album Had hope for A Thousand Suns, turned out to be the best thing ever Had hope for Living Things, turned out to be disappointed, had hope for The Hunting Party, turned out to be great, for a while... Of those three A Thousand Suns still remains, so ofcourse I'll have hope for this album, I do believe 'Heavy' makes more sense when we get to hear the rest of the album. Can't wait! The struggle is real though, never know if it'll be a disappointment or the greatest thing ever
I think the thing that botheres me the most is, that they're trying too hard to become a radio band with Heavy. It's too obvious and feels kind of desperate to me. Kiiara has always been there and it totally fits, it's .. more authentic in her case, if that makes any sense. She's absolutely professional and steals the show for Chester. So even though I love what Kiiara has done here, I still think Linkin Park doesn't belong into that pop radio genre. It's like comparing apples to bananas. Btw, sorry for my bad english. It's not my first language.
"Expect the Unexpected".... YES! Much better than Until it's Gone and War (Jeez, I hate the punk ala Green Day vibe of that song)..
Oh boy what a terrible, forgettable song. Zero Linkin Park in Linkin Park song. Who's next on LP's collaboration list ? Justin Bieber ? Nicky Minaj ? Now, even their LPU demos sounds like masterpieces comparing to this new song. This is major step backward for them
Sorry man, but that's like telling a toddler not to eat ice cream. Non negotiable. Plus, if some people, ones who aren't throwing temper tantrums and implying "LINKIN PARK HAVE LOST THEIR INTEGRITY; SELL OUTS" statements, don't like the song and explain clearly why, there's no issue.
After listening to the song more, it's definitely LP in regards to the instrumental. Sounds fantastic. Kiiara (imo) is getting a lot of unwarranted flak, is she even considered mainstream? She seems more indie to me, but regardless, she's a fantastic singer with an interesting style in her own music. Underwhelmed with Chester's vocals, but that could be because the song is so short. Either way, I want to hear more.
I forgot how the comments in here get every time Linkin Park release a new single/album. Minus' comments are the only thing that lightens me up. To quote another nerdy guy "If video games have taught me anything, it’s that if you encounter enemies then you’re going the right way" Based on people's reaction of the song, Linkin Park is most likely onto something. It might be brillant, it might be horrible, it might be both, but they are onto something different. This song sounds more pop than 90% of the songs on the radio yet it is different for some reason. They really went all out on this thing. I still have no idea how I really feel about it and probably won't until I hear it in the context of the rest of the album.
It's a generic song indeed, but they haven't done it since Burn it Down, so I don't blame them for that. Also I love the new direction. Can't wait for the album to be released.
I really like it. Yes it's pop but who the fuck cares? It's a catchy song with ´nice melodies and a fantastic and interesting vocal delivery from both Chester and Kiiara. Definitely deserves to be a hit.
