Mike is patient and mature with these comments Not that we'd expect otherwise, but a lot of people would've definitely taken it personal. I really think they need to have the celebrities come out and surprise the kids after they make their comments.
Love this video and I wish we could see Mike elaborate more while seeing people talk about them. We get interviews which are usually vague, but this was nice and a bit more in depth
Is Korn really that successful to be relevant presently? I always hear that they're releasing new albums and touring, but quite honestly they lost me after See You On The Other Side. My interest was already waning before that. Did anyone notice the difference of the kids reactions to Linkin Park's new music versus Fallout Boy's? I feel like the bands' directions are similar in regards to differing from their original sound and gearing towards an electronic/pop flow, so I feel a comparison could be made. The kids seemed more excited for Fallout Boy rather than LP. Why is that? Another thought I have is about nü-metal bands in general. Most have dropped in popularity, but I don't think it's because the genre got old. For a time it seemed nü-metal was expanding! Becoming ambient and alternative, it felt deep to me. But most of the bands changed their sound (and I don't think it was necessary to change to stay relevant, as if it were a conscious decision made by these bands) to something less appealing and more flawed imo. I'm thinking of Staind, Thrice, Cold... And some bands just got cheesy. Limp Bizkit, Korn, Disturbd... The bands dictated the fate of the genre. I still love the nü-metal sound. Especially modern bands that have a similar sound
