That opening riff though.
What I got:
Can no one explain what kind of land is dest when a man has plans of being rich,
But the bosses plans is wealthy
There'll be a money scheme, a clean split,
Nonsense the same, even confidence is faulty
Talk team, they take the paper route,
All they think about is bank accounts, assets and realty,
Anybody's expense, no shame with a clear conscience,
No regrets, they're guilt free,
But they claim that ain't the way that they built me,
Smoke screen before the flame,
Know as soon as they're gone what the deal be,
Say it's time for things to change
Rearrange that dope product we built cheap
Anything if it's more to gain
Drain, manipulate it like "aw this is real deep",
Until no more remain, but I'm still me
Like authentic hip-hop and rock, to pop and radio
You record companies kill me,
Try to force me to strain it, no way,
You've got the gall to say "yo how real could real be?"
You feel me? Yeah we'll see
If greed will be to blame
Greedy for the fame,
TV or a name, media, the game,
To me you're all the same,
This is nothing like Ht or Meteora, its not as heavy but its still like "Don't fuck with us"
I missed BURN IT DOWN... i like that kind of vibe.... I hope this is just only a promotional single.. Its still dirty and not polished like other singles in the past..
It's not heavy but it's more aggressive and raw which is something I wanted LP to return to. If you go back and listen to Hybrid Theory there is an aggressiveness to that album which they never fully recaptured in the subsequent albums except for a song here and there. But this album is going to be in your face aggressive and more pure sounding. It may contain some super heavy songs but this album seems like it's going to be a more visceral experience.
Well, i caved and downloaded Shazam, shamelessly (with such shame) promoted the App on my twitter feed and now the video wont play.
Why do you punish me, oh new music gods?
First songs are over-polished, now this .
Linkin Park fans = Never happy.
It's like another artist I know, the fans are never happy. One era they bitch about it not being rock enough, the next it's too much rock, the next it's too soft, the next it's too dark/moody. Some people just can't be pleased.
People who say this isn't heavy because there's no screaming are crazy. This hits hard.
Nope that is a no-go. And I bet anyone who shares illegal links will hear from the mods and admins.
Admins need to let someone post the link. Shazam is too crappy to let everyone listen. Is there such thing as cell phone discrimination? I think I need to file it...I get a whole 4 seconds of the song on my razr maxx.
Sounds sick outta my TV. At long last, Brad has reminded me he knows how to play a guitar. And/or Mike shows us he can do more than rhythm.
I believe GATS is more polished than burn it down
That stream is low quality
put on your HP
and dont forget to skip 3:38 to 4:41 to get the version for the GODS
If you ask me, the song could be even rawer. Heavy music sounds better when it's gritty and rough around the edges.
That's the beauty of this band. Miss Burn It Down? Then go listen to Living Things.
These guys go on new endeavors every album cycle, and it gives us brand new vibes to sink our teeth into. I wouldn't want it any other way.
There's something called "legal repercussions" that fansites have to deal with.
I think this is pretty raw, at least for LP standards.
After the initial excitement of finally being able to listen to the song through other means, I'm in the lukewarm camp. The intro drags on far too long and Chester's vocals aren't as aggressive or gritty as I think they should be for this kind of song. The lyrics also aren't anything special. It's like every time the band writes a heavy song, they feel it should compensate for simple lyrics. However, I kinda like the main riff and I really like Rakim's verse.
