Sounds decent but I'm not hearing the supposed heavier sound. If anything it sounds even more pop-rock than Liberation Transmission so far.
It sounds better than I was anticipating. Saying it's even poppier is a bit of a stretch... to me it sounds more like Start Something, a compromise between their other two albums which is more or less what I've always expected.
it's crazy, but this album really is a mixture of all their previous albums! at least i can hear parts of all of them here and there. i lost faith before but i have to say that i do enjoy this album. good work .
Really impressed with the new album! I wasn't even highly anticipating it but it surprised me. Going to be great on the treadmill.
i have to agree there, i didn't like it at first but after a 'proper' listen I think its pretty solid!
Yeah, I think after a couple more listens my opinion is starting to change, I don't find it that bad now.
After a couple of listenings, I really like the album. Yes, it's a kind of mixture of their previous albums, but still there's something fresh in it. I think it's an album you can and should listen from beginning to end. I love how you can go through dark moments, heavy songs, happy melodies, screams, ballads, etc, all in the same album. It's too early to say that it's their best work ever, but I think it's better than Liberation Transmission. Fav songs : Next Stop Atro City and Streets Of Nowhere.
wow, i was just listening to it as i read your post and i have to agree. the bridge part screams RATM. but it'S awesome that way .
Where We Belong is a horrible song, but the first half or so of the album seemed alright. But then i kind of tuned out for the second half. Last song seemed pretty cool though.
i disagree with the "where we belong" statement as i think it is a song that displays hope and positive energy. nevertheless do i enjoy the first half of the cd more than the second half. still i would rate it at 3,5/5 after a few listens.
It's a decent album but it's by far their weakest. Some songs just sounded generic and a half-assed attempt at making music. There were some good points though; Streets of Nowhere and Next Stop Atro City were pretty good. Overall I'm slightly disappointed with how much the band has changed with this album. I can't believe this is the same band that wrote songs like Shinobi, Fake Sound etc. 6/10
I really think they is an overall great album. I've listened to it around a dozen times and I think it is very solid.
i have to correct my rating: 6/10 like luke's. the first half of the cd is badass, listening to it all the time and it would've been an awesome EP. i guess the first half contains just the songs from the actually scrapped album. atrocity, felon, destroyer are all older material to my mind. the second half of the album gets almost no attention from me as i can't get into it, sadly. still looking forward to see them in april for maybe two times!
