the download link not working for anyone else? It fully loads then resets itself to a number between 30%-40% (at random) and then repeats that ...how do you say ad infitium or something like that?
I obviously can't participate by submitting a remix into the competition, but I'm thinking about doing one for fun... Does anyone know the key and BPM for the song?
A 30 second preview of what I've got. It's nowhere near being finished https://soundcloud.com/the-almighty-potato/guilty-all-the-same-remix
A friendly piece of advice... Your drum fills which start at about :22. Are they intentionally sounding like that? They sound like they are trying to accomplish too much and it is not working right to my ears. Maybe try simplifying them.
I thought it was a major key which is why the initial guitar "solo" kind of sounds like a Christmas melody, which are often done in major.
It's intentional. I wanted to give it a fast pace drum n' bass feel. The tempo is 200 which is the highest I've ever done, I might simplify it, depends. Thanks for listening
My remix is going well. I'm going crazy with the synths here. The beat is still chaotic and overly complex, which is how I want it It's loud and heavy.
I found the stems first. I'm about half done with a mashup album of every track from Living Things that I'm thinking of calling Mutant Things. No idea when it will be done though, because I'm kind of stuck. And the odd thing is that some of my favorite tracks are the ones that I haven't got ideas for yet.
I just started working on it today, here's a small snippet of the chorus - https://soundcloud.com/arachnids/guilty-all-the-same-remix-demo This is what it sounds like for now. @Cypher, That was awesome!
I agree with Hybrid, the drums get a little messy towards the end. The preview sounds interesting though, so I'm looking forward to hear the final version That's not odd at all. Tracks that I love are always the most difficult for me to remix. I'm always like, 'What's the point? It sounds perfect already!' Nice! I'd turn the vocals up a little bit though. Well done, Patrick!
