Anthony Mackie is said to be up for a role in Cap 2, possibly for "Falcon". Before this year I had never heard of GotG, & what I do know about them has been from Earth's Mightiest Heroes & internet forums (which is the case with pretty much any hero since I don't read the comics), but it's got potential to be Star Wars-esque. I'd love to see a Black Panther film, too. Again, don't know a whole lot about him, but it seems like there's a ton of cinematic potential there. I'm assuming the Guardians probably won't show up in TA2 & the GotG film will partially be used to establish who Thanos is before using him in Avengers. I could be wrong though. Tell me about it. Robert Rodat is helping write it, his previous works include writing Saving Private Ryan & The Patriot. Alan Taylor is directing, he's directed a bunch of Games of Thrones & Sopranos episodes, among other shows. Phase 2 as a whole has the potential to be a lot stronger than Phase 1. The only odd choice I think is the Russo Bros directing Cap2. But Marvel have gotten so much talent in I'll trust them. Seriously; Shane Black, Rodat & Taylor, Edgar Wright along with having Whedon & Favreau on hand. They seem to have their shit together.
Whedon officially signed on to write and direct The Avengers 2, as well as "contribute creatively to the next phase of Marvel’s cinematic universe.". http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/172155-joss-whedon-to-write-and-direct-the-avengers-2 Whedon being involved in overseeing Phase 2 & being readily available to all the creative teams of the solo films just reinforces my belief that Phase 2 will be much stronger than Phase 1.
We need a Black Panther movie...NOW! and like most people, ive never heard of GotG and i dont know much about Ant-man. I hope these films get me interested in the characters. I still think its bullshit that we get an intergalactic talking racoon before we get a black man that exists in present day Earth. but whatever. I'm sure a Black Pantherless Avengers movie will still be great.
I'd imagine it's hard to get Black Panther up to Marvel standards without having the rights to Storm. On that Joete, that's probably why we won't see Quicksilver or Scarlet Witch join the Avengers any time soon either. With Phase 2, we'll have, chronologically, the first 7 Avengers all gathered and Black Widow. I'd go into specifics as to why 7, but SPOILERS. I imagine GotG got the go-ahead due to the popularity of Rocket Raccoon in Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. In terms of who we should technically see next chronologically (possible Phase 3), we'd be looking at Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch (not likely due to movie rights issues), Swordsman (40/60 chance. If we ever see a Hawkeye solo movie, we'll see Swordsman in Avengers 3), Hercules (probably not at all), Black Panther (extremely likely for Phase 3), Vision (this depends on if we see Ant-Man 2), and Black Knight (not likely). What do I see happening realistically? For Phase 3? Black Panther or Luke Cage, Hulk 2 (Introducing She-Hulk), Ms. Marvel, Winter Soldier solo movie, and probably GotG 2. Who will be in Avengers 3 by the time that comes about? Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Winter Soldier, GotG, Luke or Black Panther, Ant-Man, The Wasp, Hawkeye, Black Widow. These are all hopes and dreams, though. But on a serious note, though, pussy.
You know who has Joewed interest in playing Luke Cage if a Luke Cage movie were to ever happen? This guy. But on a serious note, though, pussy.
I see! And the Old Spice guy has already played Luke Cage in a Marvel online episode. My next question then is, when does Spider-Man become an Avenger?
He doesn't, as long as Sony still owns the rights to him instead of Marvel Studios. Which, with the success of The Amazing Spider-Man, will be a very long time indeed.
The same day Wolverine does. Did you not see my whole thing about movie rights? But on a serious note, though, pussy. Joe
I'm officially excited for all the films, but still have not seen ANY of the films of Thor and Iron Man.
That would entail a need to make a "The Human Spider" movie, which would in and of itself be a violation of the movie rights. Also, more Joeriginal? Ha. On a serious note, though, pussy.
I heard Iron Man 3 is going to be based on the comic book arc Extremis, which is why many actors were cast for the characters in Iron Man 3 (with the exception of Mandarin) I have read that arc a lot of times. And I'm telling you: it does look good for Stark. And Iron Man has met his match. Take for instance, this certain fight.
