Meteora: What Went Wrong?

All I need to say is ''You know Meteora fucking sucks when the band even thinks that it sucks themselves, and refers to the album as Hybrid Theory Part 2''. Not to mention just how much of the LP fanbase totally shits over the album.

 

The band has never said it sucked. They've implied that they probably would have done it differently looking back on it, but they've never said it sucked.

 

This pretty much sums up what I've been trying to convey but was too lazy to set down in structured writing. Cheers, cunt

Of course they can't straight out SAY it, but take a look at the expression on the band members' faces when they play SIB during these 2012 shows and it will be apparent.

 

Hell, when was the last time they played an album cut from Meteora?

 

If they didn't want to play why would it be in the setlist?

 

Hasn't Faint been a staple of every one of their shows since 2003?

I genuinely don't know...

I mean seriously. Pull up any pro-shot from this year and look at their faces.

 

I disagree. Actually, and this might be somewhat blasphemous to some hardcore music fans, I think there is too much cowbell. Especially in the lyrics. Cowbell this, cowbell that. It's just too much.

Yeah, most bands have certain songs they feel they have to play every show even if they'd rather not. Gotta keep the casuals happy.

 

If that song existed, of course.

Maybe the band hasn't flat out SAID it sucked, but they always joke around about the album, and they look extremely bored playing the Meteora songs live nowadays. Also, why else would the band refer to it as Hybrid Theory Part 2? When is the last time you heard a band member say ''METEORA'' in an interview? They talk about the other 4 albums, but never Meteora, they just kind of call it Hybrid Theory. It's obvious the band doesn't like the album very much.. There's no denying that.

 

It's boring. Somewhere I belong has an amazing intro(the reversed acoustic) but then it just turns into a boring repetitive annoyance. Numb is okay. Breaking the Habit is awesome but the rest is shitty.

 

Back when the Living Things hype started, Mike joked around about how the new album would be called MeatyOkra, then further posted on twitter, Meteocre. Both in reference to Meteora.
