This is one of those things that you'll remember where you were when it happened. I just happened to be out last night and there were loads of different stories flying around about what had happened and if he was alive or had passed away. It was so strange 'cause it basically came out of nowhere, everyone thought it was a hoax. There were a load of songs dedicated to him anyway, and a lot of his songs were played and covers of his songs. RIP M.J. Oh yeah, does anyone think it's weird that all of his kids have Michael in their names? I've never noticed before.
This is so so so horrible. I just can't believe it. I woke up and found out but since there was no electricity I couldn't check it out. Michael Jackson RIP, We Love you <3
I forget his name, but CNN did an interview with one of the Jackson family's publicist people last night just before they confirmed with the coroner's office that he had died. He drew a comparison between this and what happened to Anna Nicole Smith, that Michael was surrounded by people who pushed him to do more than he was capable of, which caused him to become extremely relient on prescription drugs just to be able to keep up with their expectations. I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be a case of him being on way too many prescriptions coupled with a high amount of stress causing his heart to just give up on him. Probably something that could've been avoided, which is really sad.
I am still shocked by what has transpired. I randomly went on the computer last night at 10:42pm to be exact. I remember the time as I noted it down when I saw a thread pop up on one of the other forums I visit. There, the thread was shown, with it stating "Michael Jackson Dies". Of course, this report was unconfirmed at the time so I had some hope that it was actually untrue. Unfortunately, I saw it confirmed 30 minutes later on Sky News. Such a sad day. I'll always know where I was and what I was doing. I can't believe I spotted it at the exact time the thread was posted with the reported news of his death. If I didn't I wouldn't have known until this morning. Michael Jackson was a musical legend. One of the many reasons I started to get into music was because of Michael Jackson. I grew up as a young kid really loving his music. He had such a powerful voice it was unreal. This is a day I'll never forget. RIP Michael. My condolences to his family and friends.
I absolutely believe stress killed him. He was in the limelight 44 of his 50 years and was always under a microscope by the media. Everyone in the news was expecting him to fail at his comeback, and I think the prospect of failing and that embarrassment was too much to handle.
I found out in form assembly at school this morning. I walked in and a couple friends told me that he'd died, and i just responded with a sarcastic 'really?' because i didn't believe them. But then they told me that he HAD actually died and it was kind of sad there for a minute.
While it's sad that he died, I'm not too sure it was entirely just the stress of the tour. He's been accused several times of inappropriate conduct with children, he's been losing money for a while, and then there was that 50 date tour ahead of him. I hate to say it, but he might very well have just been really overwhelmed by it all and made the wrong choice. We'll have to wait on the coroner's report for the final word though. If that's what happened, I wish he would have realized that there are SO many alternatives to taking your own life. R.I.P. MJ. EDIT: The people ragging on him are making me sick. Literally. The least you can give the man is a little respect in death. It just shows how insensitive some people are, I guess.
RIP. Such a huge loss. I remember seeing the original airing of Thriller on Mtv in 1983, and being terrified by it (I was 9 years old). For those of you who haven't seen the full mini movie, it is amazing, even after 26 years. It can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtyJbIOZjS8
I think this story sheds some light on just how universally relevant Michael Jackson was: Jackson dies, almost takes Internet with him
The guy was a weirdo, but I don't blame him. He has been in the spotlight almost his whole life and eventually that can ruin someone mentally. None the less, he is an icon and will always be remembered. His legacy is so big, our children will ask us where we were when we heard the news that he died. RIP Michael Jackson. EDIT: Authorities released the 911 call.
The truth is slowly starting to come out, and it's very ugly. Michael was unhealthy, a frail skeletal version of his former self...and by all accounts it seems he knew he was going to die, but denied it for his fans' sake. http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/music/article6591237.ece
I have been listening to the same three Michael Jackson songs nonstop since he died. Billie Jean,Smooth Criminal, and Beat It
so I was watching in old interview with him and he said how he comes up with his tracks I was always curious on how he did it he beat boxes the entire thing and builds around that that amazed me thats talent man
Last pictures of MJ taken before he died: He was admittedly very skinny (almost skeletal which is shocking), but it seemed like he still had it in him. Would've been an amazing comeback had he lived. -- Oh, and apparently he was very healthy two days prior. Was doing an amazing job: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/30/kevin-mazur-photographer-_n_223234.html So this cardiac arrest was sudden.
