Mike Demonstrates New Instrumental With Pro Tools 8

Anyone want to talk new protools?

I like the feature with the changing one part of the midi track changes all the copies of it.

That could be useful. As long as there's an easy convenient way of turning it off.

The layout looks pretty good, though i'm not all that familiar with past protools layouts.

I use Cubase.

Yes, thats exactly right. Just because mike plays these particular tracks live, dosen't mean he wrote the rhythm part.

It's the same logic for Phi too. He wrote the guitar parts & riffs for "From The Inside" & "QWERTY". but does he play them live? Nope, that brads job.

Joe uses samples on every MTM song except for The Little Things Give You Away, and that's just playing live. I'm sure he did some of the stuff on the album version of it.

And there's a whole bunch of parts on the album versions of songs that were played by different people than who plays them live. The instrumental portions of Session and Breaking the Habit were almost entirely created by Mike in the studio, the intro to Somewhere I Belong is an effected sample of Chester playing acoustic guitar, a lot of the harmonies Mike sings live are done by Chester on the albums (and occasionally vice versa), etc.

 

Mmmm that bugs me, he walks off stage when there's obviously samples/loops being played.

 

All the samples come through Mike's keyboard.

I've already seen issues of people abusing the LPU exclusives, as early as an hour ago. Way to show LP your true colors, fans.

It's already out. Such a disgrace, those people.

 

You can't really stop the exclusives from leaking out, that's just the nature of the Internet. All you can really do is try to track down the people who are responsible for it.

The song's official title is "Lockjaw," by the way.

 

I know it's gonna leak, it's just sad that it's so SOON. I thought LP fans would have more patience than that.

 

Man, I'd like to hear this. I guess I'll be able to find it eventually.

 

Youtube is also to blame. It's very easy to rip off there and it's usually the first place everyone thinks of going to/putting it up.
