Holy crap. I wish I had that level of awesome on my house. Then again, if I did, I'd probably never leave. I'd just play with my SCHWEET music toys all day.
I have been collecting samples in that fashion for about 3-4 years and I have maybe 100 gigs of one-shot samples sounds in that fashion. Each sound is 50kb from a one-shot drum sounds up to the bigger wav loops I can chop. So if he's been at it for a decade I bet he has a obnoxious amount of sounds lol
I would kill to have all that art (darn you camera I wanted to see what he had but bigger!), let alone all that sweet hardware.
THE ART IS SO COOL. Saw some Futura and Shepherd Fairey in the main control room, then some Craola, Shepherd Fairey and Yoskay Yamamoto in the piano room, as well as "New Man", and his Greg Baseman collab from his first show. ALSO, if you look next to the mic room adjoining the piano room, there's a piece of his which we haven't seen before (as far as I know), of a skull dude with an octopus around his neck Art geek :/
It's a pretty low-key studio. Not in-your-face at all, which is a good thing. I could definitely see members of the band just chillin' around the desk, throwing ideas around.
Haha that made me laugh, I wanna see a video of that! The videos were very fun to watch and kinda made you feel like you were literally there (kinda) getting like a special LPU tour or something.
Enjoyed watching, very cool to see inside a more personal space of Mike's. Really liked the minimalistic design (from the desk to the overall layout) Anyone else notice the Hybrid Theory EP artwork in one of the scenes? It was a fleeting glance, but it was there mounted on one of the walls.
