I think this is arguably their most important album, because it proved that a large percentage of Linkin Park fans have absolutely no sense of humor.
ATS is their best album by far, and it's not recognized as such by a lot of fans and critics, so it pretty much takes the cake as the most underrated album.
Changed my mind, Minutes to Midnight. You can argue ATS is not appreciated, but damn near nobody outside of LPA will admit to liking MTM in the slightest.
ATS is definitely the most underrated LP album, mainly because at least 60% of LP fans are all complaining about them not being nu metal.
it sounds wierd to say but meteora. All I've ever heard about it is that it was just another HT, just HT 2, when in my opinion, it was a better more polished record. If Meteora came before HT, I think HT would have been somewhat of a flop. ATS is an amazing album which is unfortunately over shadowed by the style change. Minutes to midnight I feel is a great ipod album. Like a song comes on and I'm like "Oh great song." But since it got stolen :'( and I've been reduced to cd's I almost never listen to it, and its easy to forget that it was a great album
This. I have to disagree with this. MTM was an album that was meant to change your expectations on what a band can do. That being said, I still know plenty of people who still like Minutes. People took it and still listened to it because of the rock element. The same cannot be said about Suns. I've heard many people who gave ATS one listen and deemed it garbage. I've watched people on youtube smash the cd with a rock and throw it in a lake. When ATS came out, the The Catalyst was not very welcomed on the mainstream rock radio. It got tagged as weird awkward and got a lot of "I don't knows." I don't really listen to the radio anymore, but I can almost guarentee that air play for anything off of ATS is substantially less than anything that came off of Minutes. The last I checked, Bleed it out and what I've done were still played.
The big thing is whenever a new Linkin park album comes out, the one before it gets a lot of appreciation. Some Hybrid Theory fans hated Meteora, Meteora fans hated Minutes, people that enjoyed Minutes aren't into ATS. It's obviously not all the same set of fans, but historically, even "the worst" LP albums are appreciated better when a newer one comes out.
It's "In Between" hands down, that song is hated on too damn much and it's sad because it's a fucking awesome song.
