I was thinking that. I usually never talk about games we loose, but I did say that Jussi played well this time.
That's what I thought, but he couldn't see from the place where he was. And three random things: 1. Hockey is better on NBC then on CBC 2. Jussi deserves a shutout 3. If we can win this game, the rest of the finals will be in our favor (which might be hard, the third is when the 'Canes are at threir best).
Well, I'm wearing an Oilers T-shirt right now, and at least 30-40 other people here are too...so they'd better win
Hell yah game night, better get ready to head the the bars, its gonna be a wild one if the Oilers tie it up tonight. Jussi is playing solid. It was funny Stoll was on the radio making fun of Ryan Smyths shot, he said he has a worse shot than a 5 year old.
It didn't look like the Oilers even tried at all in the 3rd period. I almost thought they looked like the Canucks at times.
I just don't understand it. Why the hell won't they shoot? They play the points WAY too much during their absolutely pitiful powerplay. All they do is keep it to the outside. Take some god damn shots from the sides! You can't always get the cannon from Pronger at the middle of the blueline. And if you do, the middle is always clogged up, so you need to throw it in front from the sides! Especially Hemsky! He had the puck all night and he had one freaking shot. He was always making that extra pass. And they weren't even skillful passes, they were just blind passes or passes to someone on a much worse shooting angle than he was. The guy needs to shoot the damn puck. Wow. It's so frustrating to watch him dance into the zone and give it away every time. Four shots in the first, and 5 in the third. That's just terrible. Especially with all the powerplay time they got. The entire last 90 seconds, I don't think they had one shot. You're not going to score if you don't shoot! Once again, they showed up early and were dominated soon after. They've got alot of improving to do if they want to win game 5 and send it home. Namely take more shots and show up for the entire game. Markkanen played a remarkable game again, for the third straight game, and his teammates couldn't score for him.
I'm sick of people always refering to the stats, "Edmonton can't do it, only one team ever has before..." blah blah blah. The Oilers have already made some records, and if they keep playing with their heart they can win. So shut the hell up and watch the games.
Yah I thought it was pretty pathetic that most of the city counted out the Oilers. Only 4000 people showed up to Rexall to watch the game last night, after the first two games were both sold out. Then all of a sudden they win and they are the talk of the city and everyone is Oiler crazy again. Fuck I hate bandwagoners. Pick a damn team and stick with them. I don't care what any stats say, they mean fuck all when they get broken.
Well, looks like Carolina won. Can't say I'm sorely disappointed. I happen to like alot of players on the Hurricanes. Cam Ward, Eric Staal, Mark Recchi, Rob Brind'amour, Frank Kaberle, Justin Williams, Erik Cole; they all deserved it. It's simple, Edmonton were outplayed in the first two periods of tonight's game and the damage was done by the time the third rolled around. Courageous third period by the Oilers, though. It was an extremely exciting game. Lots of hitting, and scoring chances. One of the more wide-open games I've seen this year. This is what the new NHL is all about. Congrats to Justin and Ryan, who tied for first in the pool with 16 pts apiece. Full leaderboard is as follows (for those who played the entire playoffs); Ryan - 16 pts (Tied 1st) Justin - 16 pts (Tied 1st) BuriedxTragedy - 12 pts (Third) Mark - 9 pts (Tied 4th) Friskey - 9 pts (Tied 4th) Nickelnine - 8 pts (Tied 6th) Isaac - 8 pts (Tied 6th)
