Great album, but still don't think it tops The Fragile. About 8 or 9 outstanding songs on the album, the rest are good.
so we've got a shitload of now running websites. http://www.viabilityindex.com found from white lines found in the U.s booklet, the European booklet, and the flyer that was given out to NIN fans that showed up at the new billboard in LA [its an opensourceresistance.net thing] http://exterminal.net found using the binary code on the thermocome cd. http://www.miningforlife.com no word on how this was found, but it creeped me the hell out on the boston thing. http://www.freerebelart.com scared me shitless.
another website! www.briantsunoda.com i swear to fucking god, if the Presence is an alien, im killing a mass amount of people in my local area. jk. but seriously, i'll be pissed like whoa.
half asleep and sick, give me some credit i think its you me and mark that frequent this the most. k so i edited the url. not to mention, it was found in another mailstrom. i think it was the scorpion wreckage. which reminds me. on exterminal, the thing that says exhibit A under classified...is another version of Capital G. you play that version ontop of the album verson, and the two songs cancel out, leaving trent whispering "wreckage is pain" you go to mailstrom, type in pain, and click enter. they give you the shard in their error message [htdtna] it'll lead to another site at anotherversionofthetruth. it's an interesting story and is kind of like those hacker games online.
I've stopped following the websites, but just bought the album and it's probably 2nd to the Fragile in terms of NIN. Another thing, if you buy the actual album, the disc changes color with heat, it's cool.
We've discussed the thermochrome :] It reminds me of the HYPERCOLOR! shirts back when I was an ickle Rachel. Made a smiley with yours yet?
It's not an alien. I'm pretty sure that's just something they'd put on the website to show people's theories. They're trying to be realistic to what people would really be thinking.
trent's avatar on the spiral is the "i want to believe" poster from xfiles. i wouldn't put it past him. he doesn't need drugs to be a crackhead.
Wow, I really hope it isn't aliens. Haha.. but, if it is, I wouldn't be extremely disappointed. I always thought it was kind of weird to be anything Godly.
well, everyone thought of the wretched when they saw the presence but i was like "oooh, spooky hologram." i still say its a government thing. make people think its god or invaders of some kind, thus staying loyal to church of plano / bureau of morality biz.
Yeah, I don't know why everyone thought about the wretched. I mean.. I did, but when I kept thinking about it I didn't think it made sense at all. The Wretched obviously wasn't literal, and that's not what it meant, and that isn't what the presence is doing. I'm not sure how to describe it, really..
Anyone noticed LA and New Orleans, on Viability Index, are displayed but without content... I think it's the scariest site so far, cause it's based on possible shit...
God himself will reach his fucking arm through just to push you down. Yeeeaaah.. I just don't think it ever was to be taken literally, though. It just seems too odd to be taken literally. Seriously.. God reaching his arm down through the sky? lol wtf. Sounds more like a cool metaphor to me.
The same themes are often revisited in NIN songs, it's nothing new. I mean, how many times have you heard "hands and knees" in a NIN song?
