Whatever you may think of Lostprophets Ilan is already a very good drummer, although having said that he's only actually recorded two, maybe three or four songs with them that they've actually released. He definitely isn't far off Freese if he isn't already as good.
Since I haven't heard his drumming, plus, you can't really judge how good he'll be as a part of NIN since he's never been with them, I wouldn't know. But I'm expecting good things.
I saw this shit in Greenville and it was the best production I've ever seen in my life. I mean LP is my favorite band and I am at utmost mercy to them live but Trent Reznor knows exactly what the fuck he is doing. The lights and production, WOW. Reptile and Terrible Lie are new favorites. 1,000,000 and Wish rocked. Closer was sexy. Hurt was spine-tingling. Trent is amazing. What a musician. One of the top 3 in my book, and I have so much fucking respect for him. I mean that show BLEW ME AWAY. I couldn't criticize one element of it at all. I pray to a god a DVD of this tour comes out. I am still blown away. I really want to see them again live. MIND-BLOWING.
yeah, where the hell were you at the Nashville show? I was looking forward to meeting someone from the internet for the first time ever.
I saw them in Iowa on Wednesday. Absolutely amazing spectacle of audio and video. During the encore someone threw a humongous bra on stage to which Trent replied, "This are some big effing titties! I think its like our third time in Iowa this week. Next year we'll just tour Iowa. Lights in the Sky Iowa!" Highlights were Wish, March of the Pigs, Only and The Good Soldier(!). I'm going to miss Josh Freese. The Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABVAwrk_XoM
Probably just for a year or two, hopefully. Saul Williams said Trent wants to produce his next record again, so that's a few months right there. Anyway, it's funny he just announced a hiatus for NIN, and tonight, they were nominated for a Grammy.
the grammy was for 34 Ghosts IV (Best Rock Instrumental), and Reznor and Sheridan also got nominated for Best Boxed or Special Edition for Ghosts I-IV. and tour dates are at: http://www.tour.nin.com
My first thought when I read about that a few days ago was, I really don't think "34 Ghosts IV" is the best that album has to offer.
What's this bullsh*t about Trent putting together a YZ animé? It's in discussion over at ETS and I haven't found a scrap of evidence that it's in the works at all.
last US show was last night. heading to Australia next month. all the shows next year will be stripped down, 4 piece shows. that's right, wave goodbye to Alessandro. around April/May, they'll be coming back to the US for an Ampitheater tour, and then back to Europe for festivals and the NIN 2009 touring cycle will wrap up at the end of summer. Trent said in an interview with Trent from that Pink blog that after the touring is done, he's going to be working on a new album, and some other stuff not related to NIN music exactly (Year Zero TV show, some software, etc).
