Each day and with each bit of news, I am getting even more excited. I never thought that the band would go back to a guy air dominant sound. I am very happy about this, even though I do like a good bit of their electronic based material.

I am tired of hearing prequel as this album. Please, I do not believe that at all until I actually hear the album. I'm excited but trying not to overhype the album.

AND WTF ABOUT UNTIL ITS GONE. all others are fine

The interview doesn't say anything about possible vocals from Daron. I don't care, "Rebellion" can still become legendary if it contains some of his awesome-sounding guitar riffs.

Off topic: I just realized how much I miss a new SOAD album...

Getting Serj off his solo projects is like trying to get a methhead off meth. The sad truth is, a new SOAD album will never come out, despite everyone except Serj wanting to make one.

What kind of logic is that "durr until its gone is just i'LL b gone and until it breaks combined so laze where da metaphoric titles".

I love the title and it is way better than "All For Nothing"

Are we really complaining about one song title? Really? It's not even that bad of a title.

Really excited to see Daron on this album. He's got a very unique style of guitar playing and would be an interesting contrast to Brad. They both make up for their *lack of speed/technicality* with more atmospheric and deep work.

If it's just guest vocals (which I doubt), it would still be a great addition nonetheless.

Maybe this is a very slight confirmation of the other track titles from the board, which were: Mark The Graves, Line In The Sand, Warrior.

edit: I can't wait for those vague track descriptions to come in like "This track sounded like a lion's roar with Chester singing over a wash of guitars and frantic drums" like that alone describes 5 or 7 of their songs

I was listening to more System of a Down and Helmet to see if I would change my mind just slightly on the two new features, but I still don't like the music (or the singing). I hope they don't have major roles in the songs or they'll end up being some of the least played songs I own.

I'll try my best being wary of those upcoming reviews and previews by the different media outlets.

In honor of the inevitable track impressions that should be coming soon, I'm gonna repost all the song descriptions people gave of Living Things. Some of them are real gems.

    Lost In The Echo
    - Starts big and stays big.
    - Shinoda raps from the start , then vocalist Chester Bennington comes in, his vocals surrounded by echo on the propulsive track.
    - 80’s influence.
    - Scratched-out bridge.
    - Lyrically, the theme that pervades the song-- and the album--is a sense of disillusion and disappointment.
    - Staccato guitar.
    - Tribal drums.
    - Brutal screams.
    - Sub-bass boom and clangy industrial effects.
    - Big, dramatic synth.
    - Complex yet accessible syncopated beats.
    - Bennington sings, “these promises are broken, defeated. each word gets lost in the echo.”

    In My Remains
    - Electronic, aggressive, full sonic landscape; discordant and clangy.
    - Danceable percussion.
    - It shifts to a precise, military rat-a-tat as Bennington sings “Like an army falling, one by one.”
    - He repeats the phrase as the tension builds and Rob Bourdon’s drumming propels everything into lockstep, military march.
    - Dark and triumphant.

    Lies Greed Misery
    - Started off with an indie rock vibe.
    - Hard hitting hip-hop signature Linkin Park sound.
    - A progressive look back at where they started and where they are now.
    - Where the pissed motif in their earlier work was like an out of control teen, the anger displayed in “LIES GREED MISERY” is a mad adult who channels their anger into art.
    - The most innovative and captivating we heard.

    - Opening with Shinoda rapping over percolating synths and stutter steps.
    - Sounds like Linkin Park crossed with Skrillex crossed with M.I.A.
    - A jagged, fuzzy keyboard bridge gives way to Bennington chanting “You Did It To Yourself,” before he starts screaming the line over and over in a hypnotic frenzy.

    ^^^ Fucking amazing that one.

    I’ll Be Gone
    - Metallic vocals.
    - Lo-bit glitch.
    - Seismic stomps.
    - Strings performed by Owen Pallett.

    Castle Of Glass
    - Moody and unpredictable.
    - “Americana,” “Bayou.”
    - Think of it as what you love about LP and throw in a pinch of folk.
    - It gave off an eerie feel.
    - Melancholic.
    - A mountain of sound.
    - Felt like the biggest game-changer.
    - Almost alternative country melody.
    - Bennington sings “Take me down to the river bank... wash the poison off my skin...show me how to be whole again.”
    - Traditional song structure.
    - Bennington and Shinoda sing together as their voices, and desperation, rise, “I’m a crack in this castle of glass.”

    Victimized
    - “Wildly intense.”
    - “Brutal headbanger, most aggressive song in years.”

    Roads Untraveled
    - “Sea-chantey rhythms.”
    - Classic rock.

    Skin To Bone
    - “Campfire-style vocals.”
    - Electro spunk, trippy.

    Until It Breaks
    - Starts with Shinoda rapping over a swaggering beat, surrounded by beats coming at him from all angles.
    - The construction of the song made it sound as if it were escaping from a police radio at times.
    - 90′s feel.
    - The song shifts into a Kanye West-like rap thump into real instruments.
    - Bennington prays for the “strength of the rising sun.”
    - The ambient sonics grew louder and stronger as the voices succumbed to the machines.
    - Melodic electronica.
    - Layered.
