Obama was in St. Louis today, I couldn't go since I was working. But our NBC station has the video online in case anyone wants to watch: http://www.ksdk.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=139585 And if you're only going to watch one of those, watch the 3rd one. He turns comedian for a bit a couple minutes in
Only two parties have a change really, but it doesn't guarantee that they will win the election even if most of the population votes for one or the other. It's complicated yo. (Slaps himself for saying "yo")
well, i mean, fuck... Obama's campaign managed to reunite the Grateful Dead, and they played an appreciation show for him last night. .....
OK, we turned Random Thoughts into the official election thread, lets move all the talk back here Huge night for Obama. And California isn't over, the morons on the news called it way too early. From what I understand, San Francisco and northern California haven't had a single vote counted yet and those areas are not only populated, but probably overwhelmingly supporting Obama
I was checking on the Yahoo updated results and only 15% of California was counted as of 10 minutes ago.
According to CNN report; they project that Obama has won 11 states: Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota and Utah. I'm hoping that Obama will win California. =/
Interesting tidbit of information (stolen from Daily Kos): States Obama won with (so far) more than 60% of the vote: Alaska (over 70%) Colorado Georgia Idaho (over 70%) Illinois Kansas (over 70%) Minnesota North Dakota States Clinton won with (so far) more than 60% of the vote: Arkansas California is still counting, but Hillary's lead is shrinking by the minute there. Obama probably won't pull ahead of her. But since the Democratic Party distributes delegates proportionally, she may not get many more delegates than he does. It certainly won't be the massive blowout her campaign was expecting. On February 9th, we have the Washington caucus, Louisiana primary, Nebraska caucus and the US Virgin Islands primary (yeah, apparently, the USVI votes in this primary). Louisiana is his. Any southern state that Hillary hasn't lived in is his (except for Florida, but they don't count anyways). He's been doing surprisingly well in caucuses, so he's likely going to take Nebraska and Washington. USVI isn't even worth mentioning. They only have a couple delegates. But there's a huge African American population down there which will probably help Obama. Every delegate counts, but I really don't think this one's gonna make or break the primary. Feb 10th is a caucus in Maine, that one might be a tossup. Feb 12th is VA/MD/DC, likely Obama strongholds since the DC area is extremely liberal. If my predictions are correct, Hillary could be finished by this time next week. We'll see.
I believe there are 4,049 delegates, first to 2,025 wins. And I decided to get off my cheap ass and do something to support Barack Obama. Normally, I don't waste my money on stuff like this, but with his huge wins last night, it's really time to show some support
Todd, even though this is on Obama's site, I think you guys need to see this: Also the delegate count is so close right now (I think Obama's 730 and Hil's 840) that two wins by Obama in huge states could potentially decide the damn thing.
Welcome to our club! If you are an American Citizen, old enough to vote and registered to vote in one of the upcoming February states, I strongly urge you to get out there and vote. Obama needs your support .
Virginia is a little way's away (their primary). I would check if you can still register to vote before your primary. If not, register now for the November elections . (Ba)rock the vote!
I think Virginia is next week, I'm not sure when their deadline is, but you should probably register ASAP
