I saw the UNT Wind Symphony perform this one about a month ago. Fucking amazing. This recording really doesn't do it justice, but it's still good.

I knew this was going to come up. Though Prog and Technical music is probably my favorite genre, I can't stand it when the music has no emotion, and exists solely for musical masturbation, which that song seemed to me. Though Dream Theater may be one of the worst offenders in musical masturbation (which you would have no doubt brought up), their best material strikes a great balance between wankery and song-writing, and is brimmed with emotion.
